...police K-9 officer Brian Valenti is in hot water after posting an offensive comment on Facebook related to Fridays die-in protest at Publix, saying he hoped some old lady loses control of her car in that lot.
Valenti, 45, posted the comment under a photo of David Hogg, the Parkland student and activist who organized the anti-NRA event.
....Valenti, who has been with the department 23 years, has taken the post down.
But a woman who spotted and took a screenshot of his comment sent an email Saturday night to Coconut Creek commissioners and Police Chief Butch Arenal urging that the veteran officer be suspended or fired.
...Rod Skirvin, a union leader and recently retired Coconut Creek detective, described Valenti as distraught over the incident.
He feels terrible and is very willing to apologize in person, Skirvin said. We are going to speak to the chief on Tuesday when he goes back to work. There will be disciplinary repercussions for him.

Back in the USSA.
I cant stress enough how reduculous it is to post with your OWN NAME on just about anything.
Just reduculous
One thing about Hoggy the Snowflake. He has people claiming to be grownup adults kicking each other’s asses if they say something bad about Hoggy and his band of Nazi extortionists.
They want this officer to lose his job after 23 years of service for telling the truth about Hogg the Hog?
whoops.........Being a register CS voter I fully support his view.
As a city employee...I think he may have screwed up a bit.
Hope he comes out above water
Put in his paper now and bail.
there are lots of people looking for quality people from law enforcement
Make sure her plate number is widely disbursed for maximum enforcement.
What’s offensive about it?
I know some EMT/Fire/Police from different towns here in TX. It is pounded into their skulls about the dangers of posting on social media. Most of them don’t.
Last I heard, the Fist Amendment was fully in force for every citizen.
Now that was a ridiculous post. What’s wrong with you?
Smirk!
Okay, so I needed a mulligan.
The left wants it two ways. Cops cant say anything offensive in uniform but NFL players can.
At first read I thought he hoped a little old lady would lose control of her bladder when stepping over the kids. ;-)
Can you imagine what kind of kids this woman raised if any.
Hogg didn't organize crap. Who are his handlers? I suspect Soros and company.
Hogg you've used up about 14 minutes of your 15. Thank goodness.
Shame, shame on Publix for caving to these snowflakes.
In your area ...
Even under an assumed name, (like “Vaquero” or “Pollster”), there are things I just won’t post. I may think something pleasant about that pathetic camera Hogg who enjoys getting famous on the deaths of his classmates (I almost said “friends”, but I doubt that loser has ever had a friend), but I would not post that kind of pleasant thought.
If there is implication of having committed a crime the powers that be can obviously use ones IP address to find you, no matter that you dont use your real name.
No sense using ones name and position in a public service job if that would cause weenies and snowflakes from taking it to your bosses.
I personally dont go on twitter and Facebook and never will.
This is why people need to elect pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriffs in their counties. The sheriff is accountable to the electorate, not some weak-kneed, leftist police chief and mayor.
Police are controlled by politicians. Sheriffs are controlled by the people who elect them.
