John Goodman isn’t paying attention to the Roseanne Barr controversy — and he couldn’t care less about ABC’s decision to pull the plug on “Roseanne” and its Emmy campaign.
“I wasn’t gonna get an Emmy anyway,” Goodman said in a video Wednesday, which was obtained by ET.
“I’ve been up there [11] times already, and if I didn’t get one I’m not gonna get one,” the actor added.
Up until now, Goodman — who served as Barr’s on-screen husband for more than a decade on “Roseanne” — has remained silent on her controversial tweet about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.
“I would rather say nothing than to cause more trouble,” the 65-year-old explained.
Asked about the tweet that his longtime co-star sent out Tuesday, comparing Jarrett to an ape, Goodman claimed that he didn’t pay it — nor the backlash — any mind.
“I don’t know anything about it,” he said. “I don’t read it.”

Tom Arnold said she did it on purpose to screw ABC...seems maybe true, if a just a bit extreme.
The real losers though are Americans: the show was already showing that the real Silent Majority is still there, and waiting for someone to reflect their lives, not ridicule them.
I still haven’t figured out what was racist about the tweets.

Hard to disagree with that. Would that more Hollywood types felt that way.

I herd this AM he and Roseanne are the only ones on the cast who had a 10 show pay guarantee.
But he has a good number of big movies under his belt — neither he nor Roseanne are hurting.
I saw most of the episodes, and one thing stood out. They acted as if they were just going through the motions.
Since I knew nothing about any of this until Roseanne's tweet and subsequent punishment, maybe it will be the case that millions of others similarly realize the human garbage that dominates hollywood.
The best thing that can happen for conservatives is for liberals to simply hang themselves. Figuratively speaking, of course.
A pity the other co-stars couldn't do the same. But, Goodman was always the cast member on that show who showed class.
This was a set up from the start. It is time to ignore it.

I agree. Goodman has seen her up close for years and probably knew that something like this would happen at some point and was preparing for it. I’ve always liked him as an actor too ever since I saw him in Raising Arizona (one of my favorite movies).
