President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions are stuck in a dysfunctional relationship — and there looks to be no escape in sight.
Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning that he wished he had chosen someone else to lead the Department of Justice (DOJ).
It was the starkest statement yet of Trump’s displeasure with his attorney general, an early supporter of his 2016 campaign he now blames for the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.
“There is no relationship between the president and Sessions,” one Republican strategist close to the White House told The Hill. “That’s because Trump values his friendships based on loyalty and obedience — and Sessions is perceived as neither in his current position.”
The strategist argued that this view was “very unfair” to the attorney general but added that it looked like Sessions “has decided to stick it out.”
Speculation about Sessions’s future in the administration has been rife for more than a year.
Sessions was reported in June 2017 to have offered his resignation “in recent weeks” — an offer that Trump apparently turned down. But there have been no similar revelations this year, suggesting that Sessions intends to stay in his position absent an outright firing.

obvious that sessions was not really Trumps friend but was part of the insurance policy deal should he become president to stifle him at DOJ! He was too quick to recuse and had already made up his mind and has not quit like a true friend who have if had been truly blind sided. He has much to hide, probable pics too and worse!!

Wait until congress is out of town on a break, bring in Pence to open and close the senate in the middle of the night....in the short time in between Trump fires Sessions and sticks in Rudy or Tom Fitton!

I would thin that if Sessions had any self pride at all, he would resign. I don’t understand why he would want to stay in that job when his boss and almost everybody in the formerly friendly Conservative Media is critical of him. Where the hell is his Pride?

Sessions was the first high-level endorsement of Donald Trump during the primaries.
Looks like he was a plant by the Democrats.

I don’t think Trump has made it a secret. Sessions blew it. The AG always protects the president’s back. Sessions did not, and for almost two years has allowed Mueller and others to hamper and harass the president.
Sessions should fire RosenWeasel and all of Mueller’s staff for the appearances of conflicts of interest and let Mueller twist in the wind to run the case against the Rooskie Click Baiters..
Call sleepy Magoo into the White House for some career counseling and explain why he needs to retire from the DOJ.
Make him an offer he can’t refuse.
I’m sure there is some jerkwater ‘stan that needs a do-nothing ambassador.
And an ambassadorship will flesh out his curriculum vitae nicely.
