Whatever the Democrats are doing, however, appears to be backfiring spectacularly in a cycle they really should win, at least in the House.~~~~~~~~~~~No surprise here...

I see “Beto” signs all over the place around my college area of my large city, and in the “artsy” district. But my county will go overwhelmingly for Cruz.

The big blue wave may have already crested, according to numbers coming out of Texas today in a US Senate race that has attracted a lot of media attention. Democrat Beto O’Rourke has been boosted as the kind of Democrat who can compete in deep-red states like Texas in his challenge to incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. And for a while, that looked like it might be true; an early April poll from Quinnipiac had the race within the margin of error.

So what happened?

Gee, I dunno. Could some of it be from Beto signing on to a semi-auto ban? Stupid is as stupid Dems do.

Cruz will cruise. Dreams of a Democrat Texas continue to be elusive for the communist party.

Loved some of the comments. “Dildo Beto” is a keeper.

The only thing I know about Beto is he loves to use the F word in public, in his campaign rally’s and interviews. That may play well in the liberal communities and college campuses but it is a huge turn off for average Texans.

There is one house on my block with a Beto yard sign. We recently had city elections and while there were signs for the mayoral candidates in various yards, this one doofus was still sporting his Beto sign, which he has had since the primary. There are no signs for other candidates in my neighborhood (including my yard).

Cruz always was comfortably ahead of this “Beto.” Any polls showing otherwise were fake. And Cruz playing along with them was purely for fundraising.

Hispanics will vote for Hispanics and Cruz has the right kind of name. No statewide offices in Texas had a Hispanic surname elected to office previously, that I can recall meaning Senators and Governor.

Amazing how a D trend is a Blue wave and an R trend is a mini-move.

The longer you don’t hear the names Mitch McConnell or Paul Ryan in the news, the better Republicans do in polls.

It’s obvious the whole “blue wave” thing was a scam to keep the MSM-Democrats from sinking into total despair, jumping ship, jumping off the bridge, whatever.

And the MSM was right there, doing its all for the home team. Total joke.

They have zero credibility.

Obama’s total strength was from the “first Black President” thing; he’s a single guy who took all the energy out of that moment, just like OJ Simpson walked off with all the goodies of the “Black men are railroaded by the court system” thing.

Lupe the Laughingstock may not be much help to Beto either, but TX Democrats already consider Beto as good as elected. And a few even think Lupe can unseat Governor Abbott.

KEY POINTS IN THIS ARTICLE

— Both Democrats and Republicans have about equal odds of winning the House majority.

— Republicans remain clearly favored in the battle for Senate control.

— Democrats should start 2019 with at least a few more net governorships than they hold now.
