Why Gays Are Gay: We’re Changing Our Minds

In reality, of course, it shouldn’t matter what other people think. But as a measure of social change, the Gallup organization has once again uncovered another shift in Americans’ thinking. It’s intriguing despite that unbelievably boring sociology professor I had quite a few years ago.

Back in 1977 when Gallup first asked why people thought gays were gay and lesbians were lesbians — otherwise known as “nature vs nurture” — a substantial majority of Americans knew it was their upbringing and environment. Back then, 56 percent said that and only 13 percent said it was a birth trait.

That thinking didn’t change much until the last decade of the 20th century. But by the middle of Bill Clinton’s two terms, Gallup was detecting a dramatic shift. In 1996, the birth belief had jumped to 31 percent and by George W. Bush’s inauguration in 2001 it had climbed to 40 percent.

Now, according to Gallup’s latest pulse-taking, fully half of Americans have bought into the birth belief, while the environment crowd has dwindled to 30 percent. Ten percent attribute both causes while six percent just don’t know.

The growth in the birth believers has come across all political and demographic groups. But over time it is most pronounced among college graduates, younger people (18 to 34), Democrats, other left-leaners and non-churchgoers. It’s also moving among conservatives, Republicans and churchgoers, but less so.

The shifts parallel a similar social movement regarding same-sex marriage. Today, a new high — more than two-thirds (67 percent) — favor same-sex marriages being legal, which is helpful if immaterial because the Supreme Court has already ruled that.

Gallup also recently found the percentage of Americans identifying as bisexual, gay, lesbian or transgender has increased to 4.5 percent, a one point jump since 2012. Of course, that could also represent simply more feeling comfortable publicly acknowledging their orientation rather han an actual increase.

No, it’s basic stupidity...

“Born that way” implies a genetic trait, like hair color, eye shape, skin tone, or any other host of inherited characteristics. If one accepts the Darwinistic Theory of Adaptation, you accept certain premises to support that theory. One of those premises is that traits which prevent or inhibit an organism from passing down that trait to its offspring will, after a few generations, die off.

There are fewer traits around more effective than “mating” with your own sex to prevent traits from being passed down to offspring... Two men do not have any way of producing offspring with each other. Any “gay gene” would have been wiped away long ago by the genetic dead ends that gene would produce.

Then there is the case of men and women in marriages that even produce children, when one of the partners finally “discovers” they are gay, or becomes “tired of living a lie”. I barely comprehend a man perceiving another man the same way I perceive an attractive woman, but for the sake of argument, I can grasp it. It would then follow that a gay man would perceive a woman, no matter how attractive, the same way I perceive a man — ugly and with nothing that would stimulate desire in me. Yet, those poor souls were able to perform with a woman.

Finally, there is the case of incarceration, where same sex encounters happen, often between men that have attractive girlfriends or wives that visit them and are waiting for their release. How in the hell does that happen?

Nah, this is voluntary behavior from sick individuals that have a form of mental illness. They don’t need condemnation; they need help.

Male homos are homos because they were raped or molested by a man/older boy during a pivotal period in their psychosocial development, resulting in confusion about what’s normal and what is not.

Simply put, homos create more homos by raping boys.

That mostly conforms to everything I have read on the subject, which is quite a bit. There may be some other factors at work, but the strongest correlation is molestation when young.

I dated a guy when I was in my early 20’s who had a brother was gay. I asked him what made him gay and he told me he was molested by a grown man who lived on their street growing up. He said his mom never knew it was happening. He told me that’s what made him turn to men instead of women.

You will find that the vast majority of homosexuals have similar stories. There have actually been medical papers written on it. I used to cite a few articles in JAMA (Journal of American Medicine) when the topic came up.

Molestation when young seems to be the primary cause of male homosexuality, and in at least one very prominent case, appears to be the primary cause of Chastity Bono becoming "transgender."

Chastity Bono was molested by her Lesbian baby sitter while her mom (Cher) was touring around giving concerts.

This is my own conclusion after many decades of observation.

From years of living in Greenwich Village I am a million times more familiar with actual gay people and their behavior than the average person is.

I wouldn’t trust a study on this topic because a person who might even consider this conclusion a possibility would not be hired to do any studies in today’s hyperpolitical, hyper-leftist academic climate.

You know it.

I know it.

And they very likely know it. But don’t want to, so they don’t believe it, which is typical leftist behavior.

So they deny the proven (That there is currently no known genetic tag) and insist on the reality of the unproven (the possibility, however likely or remote, that a tag may someday be found)

Yes !

No big mystery. Romans 1 has it all. It starts with refusal to acknowledge God as the Creator, proceeds to worshipping the created (idolatry), rather than the Creator, and then descends into every other kind of wickedness.

Same as it always has been. Same as it always will be.

These “progressive” perverts think they are so innovative and novel, but there is nothing new under the Sun. Including their self-congratulation on their own depravity.

It isn’t about being born ghey.

The sex positive agenda is quite clear that they seek to end all moral judgements over sexual pairings of any kind, regardless of sex, age, relation, marital status, number, or species of partner(s).

If you suddendly get the urge to make it with you sibling and his/her spouse, that’s your bag, baby. Born that way is only to nudge some people into accepting it (wellll, if they can’t just help themselves...)

Numerous examples on the left encouraging people to experiment sexually with members of the same sex. Smash monogamy, smash the patriarchy.

Here’s the simple fact. It doesn’t matter what kind of sexual desires or thoughts you might have welcome or unwelcome in the end you have a choice. I have no doubt its 100% a choice. The vast majority of lesbians I’ve known have daddy problems. Also I know many people who have claimed different sexual identities over time. The idea that one is born to be gay is dumb. Yes people may be born with some propensity to behaviors and physical attributes that makes them less likely to fit into the feminine masculine norm but it is a big leap to then deciding to pursue a sex sex relationship.If you are going to do that at least own it rather than concocting a biologically dumb idea of being born that way. I personally suspect that at least with men that it involves sexual imprinting which is a very powerful thing. It explains why there is such a prevalence of sexual abuse reported by gay men as occurring during their childhood and it also explains why sexual abuse per population is so much higher among gays. The transexual bs has really thrown a monkey wrench into the born this way bull crap.

The Vagina Monologues, which was triumphantly performed at how many? 10,000 colleges, universities, and other venues over the past 20+ years, featured a pedophilic “good rape” in which an adult lesbian sexually preys upon a 13-year-old girl after plying her with alcohol.

Not a problem because lesbians can do no wrong...

And nobody can change their orientation, it's not possible! unless you change from normal to homosexual....
