Having paid one’s debt to society should mean exactly that. Paid. Punishment ends there and rights must be restored.
Yeah, you're probably right. Except they haven't "paid their debt to society" the child victim is screwed up for life, and many are killed. For every instance which gets prosecuted, ten go unpunished.
The founders would have likely have hanged or shot them, only then they would have "paid their debt to society".
Current child-molesters simply get a slap on the wrist, and soon released so they can go out and rape away.
I'm perfectly fine with civil committment, locked up until they are ready for the nursing home.
