How does a person ever get to the point of being able to do such horrible things to another person?
I once started reading a book written by the first FBI profiler. He jumped right in and started recreating a brutal rape-murder crime. I could only read a few sentences, and had to stop. I can’t bear to read that kind of stuff. But to think that someone could commit such crimes, is just inconceivable, to me.
I’ve read quite a few of those books by the men who originated FBI profiling. They are fascinating, both the stories and the men. One of the fascinations is how the profilers could expose themselves to such evil, repeatedly, and not go insane. Most of us will never cross the path of such evil in our entire lives, and they must actively seek it out in order to serve justice.
