Ive read quite a few of those books by the men who originated FBI profiling. They are fascinating, both the stories and the men. One of the fascinations is how the profilers could expose themselves to such evil, repeatedly, and not go insane. Most of us will never cross the path of such evil in our entire lives, and they must actively seek it out in order to serve justice.
My brother studied criminology, and has read multiple books on serial killers, and other high profile criminals. Of course, he’s appalled by them, but it doesn’t seem to get down on the inside of him, like it would me. But then, he’s got one of those brains that files away facts, factoids, and trivia. He remembers details about subjects forever. I’m too sensitive, and I’m not sorry that I am.
