I am afraid that in present day death, destruction and the anguish of others is now fodder for jokes and quips for many. I would even hazard to say in today’s world the Crucifixion of the Christ would bring forth plenty of wisecracks, one-liners, rib-tickling, knee-slapping witticisms from FR’s resident Comedians.

Central America is a
VERY active geological zone since two tectonic plates collide there. Indeed, that's why American engineers dropped the idea of a shipping canal through Nicaragua because of those highly active volcanoes before they built the Panama Canal.
That's why the Indonesian Archipelago is closely monitored. There are a lot of very active volcanoes there, all capable of massive eruptions (as we know from Tambora in 1815 and Krakatoa in 1883).

As far as I know, Dutchsinse was the only person on the planet to tell people to watch out for Fuego a full day before it erupted. In his daily update, he specifically talks about Fuego starting at 10 minutes 30 seconds to 12 minutes in here:

I know people with land on the next volcano over, and they got large lava rocks that hit their small farm.
Hasnt happened before, that they knew. I am sure the ash is terrible, that close.

Correct. And in fact, Central America and the Indonesian Archipelago--along with the Cascadia Subduction Zone off the coast of Oregon, Washington state and British Columbia--are some of the most active parts of the Ring of Fire.

Hmmm ... yes. Herculaneum got the pyroclastic flow, Pompeii got hours of ash-fall. The Wiki article on Pompeii cites relatively recent (2010) research suggesting that Pompeii might have gotten both.
The Soufrière Hills volcano provides several fine examples of pyroclastic flow as well.

Thanks.
My buddy from the big island of Hawai’i sent me the video from Guatemala last night. Scary stuff.
I remember watching the video near Clark AFB in the Philippines when Mt Pinatubo went off.

Thanks for the link!
Ive been watching his videos for several months and his method seems to work.
Hes pretty upset today because people have died when they could have been warned and moved from the area.
I found his channel because someone posted a link here on FR.
