Neighbor's had long suspected that drug activity was occurring at the house and even painted "drug house" on the street with an arrow pointing to the house. Officers searching after the deaths found multiple cellular telephones in the residence as well as drug paraphernalia which had what appeared to be heroin residue on them. Two of the three killed had a drug habit.

Not in New Mexico - the Democrats prohibited it about a dozen years ago. Governor Martinez wanted to reinstate it but the Dem controlled legislature has always voted it down. Maybe a video of an actual horrific robbery/execution might change a few minds.

Sounds reasonable - if someone burglarized their home while they were out, they could identify them and enact revenge themselves - no need to involve police, especially if it might bring suspicion on themselves for drug trafficking.
