Why The FBI Needs Yet Another Cover Story For Starting Spygate
The Federalist ^ | JUNE 6, 2018 | Margot Cleveland

It might be time for the Federal Bureau of Investigation to revise its Russia-Trump collusion origin story again. First, they said the whole thing started with the Christopher Steele dossier. When that fell apart, the beginning became a random conversation between a Trump campaign staffer and a foreign diplomat. But an examination of the George Papadopolous explanation—that the FBI kicked into gear once it was told a Trump affiliate was trawling for hacked emails—shows that the public evidence doesn’t fit the bureau’s story.

The FBI has long maintained that it launched its investigation into the Trump campaign on July 31, 2016, upon learning that Trump foreign policy advisor Papadopoulos knew the Russians possessed “dirt” on Hillary Clinton. Following a December 31, 2017, New York Times article, the narrative then ran that Papadopoulos had told Australian diplomat Alexander Downer that “Moscow had thousands of emails that would embarrass Mrs. Clinton, apparently stolen in an effort to try to damage her campaign.”

This Narrative Is Getting Fresh Eyes In the last month, those covering Spygate have revisited that narrative, and after a careful re-reading of the Times article, noted it does not actually say that Papadopoulos told Downer that the Russians had Clinton’s emails. To the contrary, the article admits “how much Mr. Papadopoulos said that night at the Kensington Wine Rooms with the Australian, Alexander Downer, is unclear.”

Honesty doesn’t require excuses, twisted facts and revisions. The FBI is hiding the real story and everyone knows it.

By now Trump has all the justification he needs to clean house and rebuild the DOJ and FBI. It needs to be done.

More and more it appears that origin of the FBI case against Trump was trumped up by FBI. It is clear that zealots wanted to frame Trump. Their “probable cause” looks more and more improbable.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they also decided to “protect” Bernie Sanders once he became a legitimate threat to Hillary’s quest for the Presidency.

“Why The FBI Needs Yet Another Cover Story For Starting Spygate”

They need cover stories for their cover stories. The world’s premier law enforcement agency as besmirched in perpetuity by Obama.

The FBI might easily learn that Papadopoulos worked at the London Centre for International Law Practice with Joseph Mifsud, the professor with the Russia connections. Agents also could quickly discover Mifsud’s links to Russia.

Margot missed a couple of recent discoveries.

Internet sleuths have found evidence through the wayback machine that Papadopoulos was already employed at Mifsud's London Centre for International Law and Practice BEFORE the statement in the Papadop Plea Agreement that Papadop and Mifsud first met in Italy on March 14, 2016.

In fact, there is a photo of Papadop at an event in FEBRUARY representing Mifsud's LCILP weeks before Mueller claims they met per Papadop's plea agreement.

What happened? My theory: the FBI found dirt on Papadop a US citizen by illegally searching the NSA database and other sources.

They used this leverage to get him to lie in the Plea Agreement about when he met Mifsud and that he believed Mifsud was a Russian Agent in order to further the frame-up of Trump and to hide the illegal spying done by the FBI and the IC.

Mifsud has a lot more links to MI6 and the CIA than to Russia.

Mifsud was not a Russian agent but was used by the CIA/FBI/MI6 to bait Papadop, and they covered this up by having Papadop plead to a phony set of facts in the Plea Agreement.

MEMO TO PRESIDENT: By now Trump has all the justification he needs to clean house and rebuild the DOJ and FBI. It needs to be done.

Yes. But I suggest this time you brief congressional committees FIRST so they can give you the nod to proceed without being hassled.

I’m hearing the word “lure” now instead of spy....and it sounds like something evil....right out of James Bond.

IMO that is why Trump is engaging in this strategic drip-drip-drip pardoning of people who got railroaded by Comey & Co. The theme for his 2020 re-election campaign is going to be "Clean Up the Corrupt FBI and Intel Agencies. They spied on me, and they can do it to you too!". He will come away with a mandate to do it.

Maybe the spy stuff started before Trump made his intentions public.

If so, the Obama admin and its myrmidons really need to obfuscate the timeline.

I think what is happening behind the scenes is Trump’s DoJ, minus anyone from Obama’s cabal is building its case. That’s what Huber is for. They are going through everything and brick by brick they are building a rock solid case.

“But...but... Sessions is an inert wimp because he didn’t throw them all in jail the first day he was in office !”

You noticed that too. I guess Trump is just an idiot who made a huge mistake with selecting Sessions. After all these years of Democrats going off on Republican AG’s and hindering DoJ investigations, here comes a straight arrow AG who even recused himself from an investigation. An investigation which has gone nowhere. And Trump wanted to get rid of him, twice? Then he should have. Of course if he did, another AG wouldn’t get through the Senate which is what the Democrats would want, a justice department with Rosenstein heading it up.

I humbly submit to you that once again Trump is setting up the Democrats for a big fall. Once this Mueller investigation ends, preferably before August recess, it will be Trump’s turn at bat, right about the time the Senate goes out. Oh wait, did I hear McConnell say recess is cancelled? Well, that’s a strange coincidence.

But then again, Trump is an idiot and has no clue what he is doing with this investigation, right?
