It’s possible it wasn’t her fault as preposterous as that sounds. My last boss before I retired was not interested in fixing broken thing or improving business process and efficiency. It was always “Do your job...let THEM worry about it. It’s not your job to fix or improve it.” Her tune was always the same, even if the broken system prevented me from doing my job. I never encountered a person like that in my entire career before. Every other company rewarded me for identifying and improving broken processes and systems to make things better. After a lot of berating, you get worn down, just hunker down and keep your mouth shut. I lasted all of six months.

I wish I could remember the thread that appeared in. I’m just too tired to search the statute myself.

“Adam Putnam, the commissioner of that department, is now running for Governor.”

Oopsie! Not a good thing when you’re running for office! De Santis has an issue to rub this jerk with.

From what I can tell from the FL statute the federal background check is NOT required.
790.06(6)(a)The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, upon receipt of the items listed in subsection (5), shall forward the full set of fingerprints of the applicant to the Department of Law Enforcement for state and federal processing, provided the federal service is available, to be processed for any criminal justice information as defined in s. 943.045. The cost of processing such fingerprints shall be payable to the Department of Law Enforcement by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Since the employee could not log on the federal service was not available.

Not saying that it was the right thing to do, but it sounds like a case of malicious compliance.

You do understand that the Pulse Night Club had been out of business for 2 1/2 years before the shooting.

Their business lic was expired and never renewed. Without a lic you cant pay your taxes, you cant buy liquor, etc.

So, I am assuming that she made the decision of who got their gun and who didn't???? So it is entirely possible that the student who shot up the high school got his gun from the lazy govt employee who did not feel like doing her job that day - thus granting him a gun. Yet, another step that the anti-gun crowd wants us to all get behind, failed.

Maybe she didn’t know HOW to use a computer? Maybe she had the wrong password? Maybe she was just dumb and didn’t know it could be fixed.?

Remember we are dealing with a position in State government only one step removed from the DMV lady.
