That qualifies for the absolute dumbest thing I have ever read on FR.

Why, because it runs counter to the current groupthink? I challenge you to think for yourself and consider who in the executive department has the legal authority to refuse any lawful order from the president. Not one single person has that authority. The last one who tried was then-Acting Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, and she was fired immediately by President Trump.

Ignore the theatrics, which are intended to deflect from what is actually happening. When President Trump wants the demanded items released, they will be released.

"Something that surprised me but It is my understanding that Session’s actually answers to Rosenstein."

It certainly appears so at times.

1) A subpoena from the Senate Judiciary committee for the testimony of the agent and full truthful and unredacted responses from RosenWeasel and Wray.

2) A contempt citation from the Committee when they do not fully comply.

3) The Senate Sergeant-at-arms appearance at RosenWeasel and Wray's office when they do not comply.

4) After they refuse his polite request to go with him to the Senate Committee to answer charges then send him with US Marshals and the Marines the following day.

5)Alternately, the President could issue a direct written order to comply with Senator Grassley's requests along with orders to submit their resignations if they fail to comply within a short period of time.

If it is a war they want let it begin here.

No, because it is idiotic. The senate has already told Trump they will not confirm another AG if Trump fires sessions. The gopE and mueller are chomping at the bit to have a reason to impeach and then convict Trump for obstruction charges. What you see in the senate is all kabuki theater meant to buy time. Trump is having to tiptoe around these deep state goons, and a lot foolish people who believe that Trump can fire anyone he wants. These same people, and I am assuming you too, thought Trump could just fire comey. See how that worked out?

Trump can get rid of all three of them — and more. And what better time than right after the Horowitz report comes out. If not then, then when?

***************

The Horowitz report will provide Trump the justification he needs to clean house. Even if the report is not as damning as it could be, there will still be plenty of evidence of destructive partisanship, obstruction of justice, and a clear case of efforts to undermine our democracy. The report should make it clear to the American people that these agencies are corrupt, out of control, and need to be cleaned out. The people will support Trump’s actions to do that.

Leaving these goons in place and doing nothing will leave the Deep State in control, and that is an unacceptable condition which will only foster even more corruption and political meddling in the future.

What is foolish is allowing a destructive cabal in place to engage in illicit machinations and to undermine the integrity of our political system. They cannot be allowed to stay less we come to accept the idea of living in a police state.

Subpoenas are worthless if you can’t enforce them. The same person who denied their request is the person who Congress would have to ask to enforce the subpoena...

Sessions, Wray or RosenWeasel? “

Mueller, Rosenweasel and Wray...Sessions is out of the chain of command.

“The same person who denied their request is the person who Congress would have to ask to enforce the subpoena...”

Not true.

Congress has unquestioned authority to jail anyone in defiance of a Congressional subpoena. The idea that they have to ask the DOJ to prosecute is a fallacious myth. The Speaker Of The House can direct the Sgt. at Arms to arrest and incarcerate the subject of the subpoena until compliance is obtained.

Trump can fire whoever he wants in the Executive branch, that is not really a matter of debate, it is a given.

Whether the Senate will confirm a replacement or not, Trump can also appoint acting AGs to replace whoever he fires. They will serve only a limited term, but he can then just appoint another, and another if the Senate won’t confirm. Trump obviously has decided not to go that route, but it is perfectly within his power to choose to do so.

As for impeachment, I think that’s really an empty threat. Certainly doing so on grounds of “obstruction of justice” would be a farce, since that would mean the President, as the chief of the law enforcement branch, were somehow “obstructing” himself.

He’s recused on everything except stuff like helping Canadians nab cheese smugglers.

Sure it will. You might want to wait and see it before you base your opinion on it. horowits is the same IG that cleared the fbi on fast & furious. My bet is it says mistakes were made, but no criminal obstruction occurred. Maybe some low to mid level nobody will be fired just to keep up the kabuki theater.
