Elham Ahmed: We are fully prepared for direct negotiations with regime (Assad-Syria)

Elham Ahmed confirmed that we are fully prepared for dialogue and starting direct negotiations with the Syrian regime if the latter is already ready to initiate such a step.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with the Co-chair of Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), Elham Ahmed about recent events that are taking place, said we are fully prepared to negotiate.

Where Elham Ahmed said that the war and military option will not solve the Syrian crisis. "We from the beginning said and still say that we are ready for dialogue and start direct negotiations with the regime."

Elham Ahmed said they were ready to negotiate. "If the regime is really ready to start such a move."

The Co-chair of Syrian Democratic Council Elham Ahmed said "We say that the political solution is the only option to preserve the territorial integrity of Syria, end the war and build a decentralized democratic Syria."

Well, I think this is being taken seriously now. It was last visited before Turkey invaded Afrin (Efrin), with the blessing of Russia and Assad.

That disaster has changed the relation between Turkey and the other players. And the relation between Iran and Russia has changed.

I look for some alignment to form around those changes. It is discussed, but not publicly.

And consider the damage that Erdogan has done both within and outside of Turkey. It is possible the he will show poorly in the upcoming election on the 24th.

This may be a bridge through which a democratic Syria could emerge.

I know, Erdogan will try to steal the election. But is the damage so bad it won't work?

Is the relationship between Turkey and the US forever destroyed? It is yet unclear.

The Syrian Democratic Council (Arabic: مجلس سوريا الديمقراطية‎ MSD, Classical Syriac: ܡܘܬܒܐ ܕܣܘܪܝܐ ܕܝܡܩܪܛܝܬܐ‎, translit. Mawtbo d'Suriya Demoqraṭoyto, Kurdish: Meclîsa Sûriya Demokratîk‎) is the political wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the de facto autonomous Democratic Federation of Northern Syria. Both organisations work towards the implementation of a secular, democratic and federalist system for all of Syria.

Elham Ahmed is well know internationally in this capacity. Syrian leaders know her. Both the SDF (prior to SDF the YPG/YPJ) have tried to avoid direct conflict with the SAA. The times that has not worked, the Iranian elements affiliated with Assad have caused the conflict.
