What better way could there be to celebrate Obama's legacy than bankrupting a bankrupt state for the greater glory of Barry?
Illinois now has the worst credit rating in the municipal bond market. Moody’s Investment Services pegs Illinois’ debt at Baa3, and it could further downgrade that credit rating later in 2018.
The State of Illinois incurred deficits reaching nearly $15 billion in 2017, and those deficits are projected to double to $30 billion in 2018. Illinois has also accumulated hundreds of billions in unfunded liabilities in public sector pension and health-care plans. This has exposed local jurisdictions to the risk of default or bankruptcy. In response, Illinois has issued large bailouts, further weakening the finances of the state’s government. The courts have exacerbated this problem by ruling the Illinois Constitution mandates state bailouts for public sector pension and health plans

Obama brought the United States close to insolvency with his massive deficits. Now he is doing the same for Illinois.
All of these ex-rust belt cities construct stuff because they think it will bring in future profits. In Cuyahoga County, money is being spent to encase the Q (NBA arena) in glass. Money for this stuff should instead be spent on community policing and road repair. JMHO
What’s really important to these people is creating a shining legacy for the man who betrayed his country.

Just imagine what, IIRC, a hundred ten million worth of remedial education could have done for poor kids rather than what politically correct, raceially aware “education” programs did to them?

To be fair, Illinois was insolvent long before Obama. Their bonds are junk-grade no matter what the ratings services claim. They simply have no intention of ever paying them back.
The new Democrat governor will probably double that amount.
You would travel to Illinois on your summer vacation to see the Obama Center and bask in his legacy there, wouldn't you?
