McDougall ,one of the Clintons former allies who turned against him was in solitary and proclaimed he was going to lift off the burden of lying from himself and tell all he knew the next day. Some reported he had an injection of a heart destroying medication that killed him before morning. NYT merely said his loss was a blow to prosecutors who needed him to corroborate new evidence in the main Whitewater case.
