A New York man who helps run a group to raise awareness about sex abuse of children was himself arrested Tuesday on child sex abuse charges.
Federal prosecutors said Joel Davis was caught in possession of explicit child sex images and that he had attempted to get access to children as young as 2 years old for sex.

In the US, the current guidance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is to defer any male donor who has had sex with another man (MSM) in the past year. This has been so since December 2015.

I sincerely doubt that that's always the case.But it would be wise for males who sign up with such campaigns to be checked very carefully...and regularly.
That's certainly possible.However,I can't see how that really explains anything.For example,my cousin grew up in a household where his father (my "uncle-in-law") had a serious alcohol problem.He said that many of the particularly bad things that happen is such homes didn't happen in his but he said it was still pretty difficult.He told me that,having watched his father,he vowed when he was 8 never to drink booze.And 60+ years later he's kept that promise.No booze...no drugs.

I’ve only seen the statistics - many pedophiles were themselves victims. Its not to say it as an excuse, its a heinous thing.
I agree with you - the ones who are strong and who have good self-awareness are those who will actively work against those behaviors which hurt them.
I couldn't talk about it with anyone else.
