What a week of news! This will give some of those up for re-election Dim senators in Red states won by Trump a lot to think about once the nomination is made.
Since the filibuster is gone for supreme Court nominees, the next justice can be confirmed without Chuck Schumer and Democrats being able to block anyone.

As far as ties are concerned, it’s not a big issue, because the Supreme court is going on their summer break. A new justice should be in place by the fall when the new court session begins. It won’t be a tied Supreme court for long.
