MARK LEVIN GOES AFTER NEVER TRUMPERS IN LIGHT OF TRUMP’S SCOTUS NOMINEE PICKS
The DC ^ | 10:23 PM 06/27/2018 | Julia Nista

He added that we “need to get our language correct.”

“If you support the Constitution, you’re not a right-winger. You’re not even theoretically conservative, you’re a constitutionalist,” Levin stated.

Levin then took a shot at “Never Trumpers.”

“All these Never Trumpers out there, these former Bush administration officials or pseudo-conservatives who have been trashing this president left and right, I don’t mean just disgreeing with them here and there,” Levin said. “But we’re seeing here — failure, trying to sabotage him, joining in with the left — shame on them, shame on them.”

The radio show host went on to say that Trump is “correcting the courts” and “correcting what Obama did, trying to make sure this republic stands as it was intended to.”

Levin also said he would like to see Utah Sen. Mike Lee on the Supreme Court bench.

Levin announced on September 6, 2016—two months before the November 8 election—that he would vote for Trump over Hillary. That’s hardly “last minute.”

Lincoln appointed one of his rivals to the SC to get rid of him politically.

Yup. He said he would. And then right back to how bad Trump is, how he has to hold his feet to the fire, how he’s not a real conservative but rather a populist and how terrible that is, how his tariffs will ruin the country, etc. He never had a good thing to say. His “support” for Trump very much came across as “well I guess I gotta vote for him but I’m not gonna like it and neither should you.” Honestly they first time I actually heard him urge people to vote for Trump was on election night when he got word that Florida was extremely tight, suddenly he was like “oh hey, you better go out and vote”. I remember this because it struck me ... now you say it?

Has Levin ever uttered a public mea culpa for his NeverTrumperism? I don't listen to him anymore.

Indeed Levin was one of the original NeverTrumpers. I used to listen to Billy Cunningham on Sunday nights until the night I heard him suggesting why would we be voting for Trump. These were allegedly conservative radio anchors. I never heard him issue an apology for his neverTrump time. I'm still wary of Rush, calling us Trumpsters before he became supportive of Trump (like Levin).

Precisely....he was one of the first picks on that team. No one needs him coming with his hat in his hand, but a little acknowledgement and sitting down with the President, for a face to face meeting, would go a long way.

I’m not saying that Levin is the End All, Be All. But, he’s a smart guy that has been around a while. The President needs to talk to people like him, Coulter, Savage, Hanson, Carlson, Hannity and a few more. I’d think they’d keep him more grounded then the stooges in DC that either tell him what he wants to here or are trying to manipulate the narrative for their donors benefit.

You are a complete idiot. Levin was never a nevertrumper. He supported him strongly in the general election and voted for Trump. Just because he didn’t kiss Trump’s ass constantly, does not make him a nevertrumper. I doubt Levin misses your ears anyway. He’s going strong without your uninformed so called brain.

Oh dear me. You are such a snowflake, you don’t have enough confidence to listen to Levin sometimes and turn it to a ballgame. What a tough life you lead.

saying he preferred to stay in the Senate.

But he also said, “I wouldn’t say no.”

Hey Levin bitching about tariffs gets old after half an hour. At least baseball games have beer commercials. Besides torture radio ain’t my bag. I need bitching I’ll leave the toilet lid up.

Levin was in fact a #nevertrumper. He’s changed his spots because it’s all fairweather to do so. He’s earned himself a position of lifetime probation in my book. He’s no better than Glenn Beck who totally destroyed his own career and empire in a very embarrassing display of TDS.

I listen to Levin very little, but do specifically remember him ranting that we could lose both the House and Senate because of Trump being the Republican nominee. I doubt he’s ever gone back and admitted being wrong about that.

I listen to Levin every day and he supported Trump months before the election. He does call out Trump for positions he disagrees with, like increasing ethanol subsidies, or the tariffs. But other than certain items he is a huge Trump supporter. Levin attended the Jerusalem event for the move. There is nothing wrong with not being a rubber stamp.

But he also said, “I wouldn’t say no.”

In that case, let's fast forward to the Mike Lee Senate confirmation hearing. The democrats on the committee (and every talking head in the media) will demand an explanation of why he wanted Donald J. Trump to drop out of the presidential race in October 2016. I can only think of two possible responses to that line of questioning, both of which are not good.

1. Mike Lee decides that he does not want to discuss it, so he gives non-answers, obfuscates, goes off on a tangent, or whatever. Imho that would not be a proper display of the intellectual robustness required of a conservative Supreme Court Justice.

2. Mike Lee puts on his pink pussy hat and spills his guts about exactly why Trump should not have been elected as our President. And that would happen live on tv about 45 days or so before the midterm election.

Either #1 or #2 would make this man very happy.   (If there is a #3 possible scenario, I would love to hear it.)

I totally disagree with scavenging the Republicans in the Senate for other jobs. It puts the seat at risk and the person selected is rarely the best for the job (think Sessions).

I don’t know much about Lee but I can’t help but think that many on Trump’s are better qualified and are more reliably conservative than Lee.
