This is not going to be a popular thing to say here, but abortion is considered by 79% of the country to be legal. If Trump appoints a judge who overturns that decision the GOP will lose, the Democrats will win decisively, and the limits currently on abortion will be lost, quickly.

That doesn’t mean it’s right (it’s not - it’s murder), but who can deny that it’s legal?
Warren was a dolt, it was bad law ( W.F. Buckley pontificated about it for years ) and none the less, it is now become engrained in our culture on steroids that it is some new constitutional right that our founders forgot about. Yes if overturned it will raise heck. What will have to happen is a heart and sea change in peoples minds as to what this is, and they don't want it occurring anymore, G-d only knows when that will happen.....
Just a wild @$$ guess here, but medical technology maybe the solution. Fetus transplants to those that can't conceive and transplant to those who wants a baby. We thought Star Trek was crazy with all the devices and other than the beaming we have them. We transplant everything else, why not this....

Your link says pro-life and “pro-choice” (should be pro-abortion) are evenly split. And only 29% think abortion should be legal in all circumstances.
I think the idea is to turn issues like this to the states...ie the people.
You will then have states allowing abortion, like marijuana.

That’s ridiculous. I’ve read that 53% of Americans support restrictions on abortion. But even if Roe v. Wade does come back to haunt the GOP, I’d rather strike a blow for the unborn and for social conservatism than surrender to the left.
Besides, Dan Fisher, the Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate for the GOP, said that if elected he would immediately call a special legislative session to abolish abortion in the state. And he’s not going to let the federal judiciary stop him. A state-level ban like this is the best window for Roe v. Wade to be overturned. Especially now that Kennedy is retiring.
I’ll take my chances on the future of an America without Abortion, rather than the wrath of God on an America promoting Abortion.
Roe did not make abortion “legal”. Many states allowed abortion prior to Roe. The decision made abortion a Constitutional Right which could not be regulated by the states, at least during the first trimester. The text of Roe did allow the states to regulate abortion later in the pregnancy but any attempt to do so was blocked by later decisions which held that such regulation unduly infringed the so-called abortion right. Overturning Roe would simply allow the states to regulate the procedure. Many would allow abortion and some would presumably outlaw.
At least they have something to harp about.....
IMO SCOTUS, even a pro-life dominated SCOTUS, will at most tweak around the edges to allow a little more regulation and constraint.
Overturning RvW is not in the cards.
Overturning Roe vs Wade, despite popular belief to the contrary, does not make abortion illegal. It simply reverts back to the individual states to make that decision.

It is true that it is the Law of the Land at the moment. That doesn’t mean that it is right. Polls like these are useless because of the way the question is asked. If you asked (a) is it the law? Everyone would say yes. If you also asked (b) do you agree with it? The question perhaps would be more than 50% no. Quoting polls without knowing how the questions are asked are a useless attempt to prove one’s point, not a serious conclusion.
I use round numbers here because they fluctuate from year to year, a far different picture than your statement which combines those which want it legal under limited circumstances (the vast majority of that 79%) and those that want it legal in all cases.
Pro-choice Democrat Byron White wrote the dissent for Roe, in which he correctly pointed out the constitution was silent on the matter.
