Donald Trump Jr. bets Elizabeth Warren $10,000 that Kimberly Guilfoyle is 'more Native American'
Washington Times ^ | June 28, 2018 | Victor Morton

Never mind Elizabeth Warren — President Trump could soon have a “Pocahontas” in his own family.

And Donald Trump Jr. wants to make a sport of it.

In a segment on Fox News Channel’s “The Five,” the anchors took the popular “23 and Me” DNA tests to determine their ancestry.

According to the tests, 6.1 percent of Kimberly Guilfoyle’s DNA is “East Asian and Native American,” with 5.3 percent definitely Native American and the rest possibly either.

The posting of the results by the conservative site Twitchy prompted the presidential son, who has been widely reported as dating Ms. Guilfoyle, to engage in some snark at Ms. Warren’s expense and for the benefit of a Native American charity.

“I’ll make this interesting. I’ll bet @SenWarren $10,000 to a Native American charity that @kimguilfoyle is more Native American than she is. [Let me know],” he wrote on Twitter.

LOL! Fox News’ Kimberly Guilfoyle could be more Native American than Elizabeth Warrenhttps://t.co/so3NqZsker — Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) June 28, 2018

Your family lore may still be correct. These tests look for marker genes that are more common in certain populations. You could have Cherokee ancestors but none of the marker genes came down to you. Each generation halves the genetic contribution of the previous generation. You don’t know what genes get left behind in each mating.

I found the same thing! According to what a late uncle had told me, I should be 1/16th Cherokee - it was zero.

Much “Native American” shows up as Mediterranean/North African as the Egyptians and Phoenicians had large encampments in the Americas during the “bronze age” ... Of course this includes the Israeli tribes too as they were part of the Egyptian empire for many years and are indistinguishable from them... Modern Egyptians are darker skinned and have DNA mixed with more African peoples.

the tests are likely off. Can’t account for all DNA strands because God is God and science and testing is miniscule in it’s knowledge (even though it has advanced some at times over history).

DNA tests are just a money maker for LDS and other groups that want to collect as many people’s DNA sample as possible.

A relative of mine expected to be mostly italian due to both his parents are overwhelmingly italian heritage (came to USA from that country and have researched generations back in that country) yet their DNA test shows more english/irish than italian. The tests are bogus imo.

If Warren is Grey Beaver then Guilfoyle is Big Beaver.

Interesting story. I took the test and it just confirmed what I already expected. English 33%, Scottish 30%, Kraut 25% and Irish 11% in that order with less than 1% east Europe, south Europe and Iberia. You don’t get much whiter or more European than that. And I’m a heterosexual male to boot. I’m doomed.

Funny thing. My wife is 1/8 Cherokee, and 1/8 Sioux, and she doesn’t have “high cheek bones”.

#6 It happened during the 1950’s when all the westerns were on tv. Stores were selling indian costumes and photos were taken of the kids wearing them and handed down the generations and the descendants thought they must have indian blood in them....

A million others are thought to be descendants of Danial Boone due to wearing coonskin caps.....

What did come was DNA results (.7 percent) from western Africa (probably the region of Gambia to Ghana). [...] But that wasn’t really the end of the DNA business. There is a small bit of Ashkenazi Jewish blood (.5 percent showed up).

I strongly doubt, given the current State of the Art, that these DNA tests are truly that precise.

Regards,
