Americans who don’t like our immigration laws need to tell us which countries immigration laws they want us to emulate.
Mr President, can we PLEASE do the same for the illegals who’ve already burrowed into the American woodwork?
An objective soul would certainly peg our modern Democrat politicians as going way overboard. It’s a personal conflict thing between them and Donald Trump.
And here’s what’s wondrous to me. Donald Trump was a Democrat once. As was Ronald Reagan. Both discovered that their former party had walked away from the ideals they had prized, and they knew its vices all too well. Too liberal becomes “illiberal” and becomes a battle to the death of the twigs against the tree. If the twigs succeeded, they would discover that the tree that had been sustaining them is gone.
Some Republicans still want open borders.
I call them Bush League Republicans.
Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all!
Do the Republicans want what the President tweeted. I say no.
They want doors front opened at the border and back through visas.

If the government of Mexico or Canada brought a bunch of US criminals to the border and forced them to walk across, I suspect that our government would have a fit. It’s exactly the same, except the Government of Mexico is complicit in allowing the fence-jumpers to do so in the first place. But, turning a blind eye to crime is not the same as actually committing a crime, as our government would be doing if it forced people to walk across into Mexico.
If we did make them walk back across, it would only be hours or days later that they crossed over again someplace else. We know they do this as people have been “deported” officially sometimes dozens of times. The only thing that might actually stop fence jumpers would be to shoot them. I don’t see that happening. Ever.
However, if properly motivated, Mexico might be happy to shoot them. What that motivation might be, I have no idea.
Until recent years, this was the practice. You grab them, log their names, and push them back through the fence. They could be back on the Mexican side of the border the very same day.
It is only in the last few years, say, under Obama, that suddenly a common fence climber could claim “asylum” status.
I would say that no one coming from the western hemisphere has a legitimate claim for asylum, and if they do, they are probably coming by air. If your government has put a contract on you personally, to assassinate you, and if we like you, then you have a claim. Otherwise, no.
So you’ll find a few political people on the run, say, from the Venezuelan government may qualify for asylum while they plan their return to the fight. A farmer from Honduras doesn’t. He doesn’t even merit a hearing.
Furthermore, we don’t need to be returning them to their country of origin. Mexico let them in, they are Mexico’s problem. Log their name and maybe a DNA sample if they don’t have valid ID. Push them back through the fence.
Only if they come in the front door. Anyone coming in the back door should be barred from ever getting any type of legal status regardless of what their circumstance is.
Also; this 200 yard buffer wouldn't work here. Use the front door then go to a holding detention center until asylum or other claim can be adjudicated. If it's a false claim; never be allowed in no matter what. Prison time for 2nd or more offenders.
President Trump is right. This illegal border crossing stuff has to stop. The front door should be the only way in. Those overstaying visas need to be deported with a no entry tag put on them. Can't come in period.
For those who want open borders, why don’t they try to enter some other country illegally and see what happens to them.

I feel differently about many of these people, because both parties had misled them for decades with nodding and winking and absurdly easy rules. Due to this implicit “yes” even though the official law said “no” it isn’t an easy sell to turn it around. But again. Donald Trump may only care what he can jam through, not what he can sell. And there’s a limit to that. Even the wise parent with a rebellious kid finds a limit to what he will jam down the throat of that kid.
At the least, I’d want to stipulate that if you’re in here as an illegale, even under legacy rules, after a certain date, then its “never ever a citizen” for you. You got to choose. Go out to the penalty box and wait out your time before returning to the game, or leave the game forever. Incentivize pro-active self deports with easier rules.

We’ve got 30-50 million illegal aliens and their demoncrat voting anchor baby demon spawn already here and in need of deportation. Send more troops, shut down the border and build the wall.
If this illegal alien invasion and the deepstate(our corrupt stasi state) are not dealt with, all of Trump’s MAGAing won’t make a difference. The next ‘election’ will be really rigged by the demoncrats
