In other words, liberals are hypocrites. But I already knew that.

For the same reason they fail at talk radio.

Liberal ideas can’t stand the light of day.

“who teaches such courses as “Evolution of Gender Crimes” and “Sex Equality.”

In other words she’s a flaming hate filled Leftist loon who would happily shove us and our families into boxcars to get what she wants.

"Over the last 13 years, the Supreme Court “has been far more likely to embrace free-speech arguments concerning conservative speech than liberal speech,” the Times said."

Note to the Times: its "free speech", period. Not "liberal" or "conservative".
Unless, of course, one embraces the concept of "some speech is more free than others".....

They weren’t for “free speech”, they were for not having their speech supressed. They also weren’t for “diversity”, they were only for themselves not being excluded.

Everything about the left is fake.

A great article about an article....

This is why some of the Satirical pieces are so hard to get these days. I swear that some of these "intellectuals" are trying to be funny or cute, sarcastic or cynical. But they are not and this is not satire.

"One law professor at Georgetown, Louis Michael Seidman, who used to defend free speech now sees his prior position as a mistake."

“When I was younger, I had more of the standard liberal view of civil liberties,” Seidman said. “And I’ve gradually changed my mind about it. What I have come to see is that it’s a mistake to think of free speech as an effective means to accomplish a more just society.”

Whereas free speech used to be invoked to defend “radicals, artists and activists, socialists and pacifists, the excluded and the dispossessed,” MacKinnon laments, it has now become “a sword for authoritarians, racists and misogynists, Nazis and Klansmen, pornographers and corporations buying elections.”

Again the LEFT demonstrates that when they talk of freedom, it is always nuanced towards their freedom, not a universal freedom. Thus a cause of past defense, “Freedom of Speech”, now, when that shoe pinches, becomes a cause to criticize its defense.

Once again I proclaim my belief that LEFTists are like vampires, they cannot see themselves in the mirror, they cannot admit that they can only win when the playing field is slanted to their favor.

To paraphrase Erdogan, for Leftists free speech is like a bus, when you arrive at your destination, you step off.

We’ve been seeing this for some time. Progressives believe that any speech that does not conform to their view is dangerous and should be stopped.

That about sums it up...

The American Left has not changed one bit, nor is it hypocritical. The Left has consistently advocated its concept of the “Freedom of Speech”. For example, Article 50 of the Constitution of the USSR stated:

“Article 50. In accordance with the interests of the people and in order to strengthen and develop the socialist system, citizens of the USSR are guaranteed freedom of speech, of the press, and of assembly, meetings, street processions and demonstrations.”

The Left is not hypocritical; it is deceptive.

Conservatives and libertarians must come to terms with the fact that the Left is all about deception, and that it uses words and expressions that have entirely different meanings from those used in ordinary communications.

It’s just that the Left’s definition of “Free Speech” is different from any definition of a genuine American or classical liberal.

The Leftist concept of “Free Speech” originates in Article 11 of the French Revolution’s “Declaration of the Rights of Man” states “The free communication of ideas and opinions is one of the most precious of the rights of man. Every citizen may, accordingly, speak, write, and print with freedom, but shall be responsible for such abuses of this freedom as shall be defined by law.” This is all it takes to confer to the State the authority to guillotine anyone who advocates or even communicates wrongthink.

Certainly there were some classical liberals who signed on to the Declaration of the Rights of Man. They failed to grasp the intentions of the “but brigade” (people who say they’re all for free speech, but ... The “but” negates their fake advocacy of the classical liberal understanding of the meaning of “Free Speech”.)

Floyd Abrams’s a heavy weight AND he’s coming down on our side... interesting times...

“The left was once not just on board but leading in supporting the broadest First Amendment protections,” said Floyd Abrams, a prominent First Amendment lawyer and a supporter of broad free-speech rights. “Now the progressive community is at least skeptical and sometimes distraught at the level of First Amendment protection which is being afforded in cases brought by litigants on the right.”

“Many on the left have traded an absolutist commitment to free speech for one sensitive to the harms it can inflict.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/30/us/politics/first-amendment-conservatives-supreme-court.html

“Described by Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan as “the most significant First Amendment lawyer of our age,” Floyd is top-ranked by Chambers USA. He is listed in Who’s Who Legal, Who’s Who in American Law...”

They want their “fairness doctrine” back so that they can completely control the message. Facts are their Kryptonite.
