Rape and Incest: Just 1% of All Abortions - The New York Times
https://www.nytimes.com/1989/10/13/us/rape-and-incest-just-1-of-all-abortions.html
This is a push-poll, nothing more, with results easily manipulated based on how you ask the question. 70% of people have no idea what overturning Roe v Wade would do and not do.
Men need Roe v. Wade so they can have unprotected sex without any worries about romance, long term commitments or financial responsibility.
“I dont mind keeping it legal.”
It will be in Oregon and other heavily Democratic states.
The federal government has no business with respect to abortions performed in the states, pro or con.
A crazy man could run through the maternity ward of a hospital in New York City and chop the heads off every newborn and federal law simply wouldn’t apply.
The only way abortion will be totally outlawed in the USA is if Democrats feel themselves to be an endangered species politically in need of all likely future Democratic voters.
What gives this away as an outright biased sampling is the result that only 19 percent of the people questioned think the Supreme Court is too liberal, while 31 percent say it is too conservative. The Supreme Court too conservative by a 3 to 2 margin? Definitely a biased sample.
“Millions and millions of women for centuries did NOT abort their children. Why?? Because they didnt believe in it.”
Normally not, they would be killing their future two-legged “Social Security” providers.
However, some inserted herbal pessaries that did the deed.
True.
Don’t forget it is not politically correct to be against abortion; any abortion, any time in pregnancy. Many now are programmed to be politically correct instead of deciding issues for themselves.
I personally have seen a big shift in younger women- 20-30, many are absolutely against it. They are not even bashful about speaking out against it on facebook. This poll did not reflect what I see.
I wonder if the question was if they support murdering babies how the poll would have turned out?
I don’t put stock in any poll, remember polls said Trump would not be elected President.
State’s rights. Just like everything else not specifically mentioned in the Constitution.
Yeah I agree. Many people oppose late term abortion but wouldn’t want an full ban.
A bare majority perhaps, but the agenda in the way this push poll is reported is impossible to miss.
But most legal scholars think it was poorly argued and decided - if it turns out to be inconsistent with a more strict-constructionist Constitutional interpretation of the law, and gets overturned - too bad.....
I now know what Quinnipiac polls are from what they say in this one. If that poll was telling the truth, the democrats would allow a referendum vote, the results of which would solve the issue. There is no way this poll is anywhere near accurate.
