Twin Peaks shootout forfeitures following path of criminal cases (Waco)

The anxiety was etched across Marty Lewis' face as he emerged from the Waco Police Department.

It was clear Lewis was uncomfortable being back in Waco. As he sat for a brief interview, one of the first things he said was that he wanted to get back on the road and out of town. Waco left him with bitterness, he said.

It had to be something important to bring Lewis back to the city where the retired San Antonio police detective was arrested after a shootout between biker groups at a Twin Peaks restaurant in May 2015. The decorated former officer was locked up with 176 other bikers that day on first-degree felony charges. He was jailed for 22 days under $1 million bond before his attorney could negotiate a lower bond.

Lewis' mugshot was spread across America as the face of the deadly Twin Peaks shootout. Like the half-white, half-black beard he sports, Lewis was a dichotomy, the ex-cop biker. He is a grandfather and family man, the father of three successful children and a second-generation police officer who retired after a distinguished 32-year career in law enforcement.

Yet police and prosecutors branded him and others as members of violent street gangs who came to Waco in a show of force, armed to the teeth, expecting a brawl with their rivals and not caring if innocent families dining out after Sunday church were in the danger zone.

Lewis, a member of the Valerosos motorcycle group, a Bandidos support club, is still upset about how he and others were characterized after the gun battle that left nine dead and 20 injured. He said he came to Waco to attend a biker coalition meeting, like he had dozens of other times at gatherings across the state.

“Lewis is among about 130 bikers who have filed civil rights violation lawsuits against McLennan County, the city of Waco, Reyna and a handful of law enforcement officials.”

IBTG.

What a complete disgusting fabricated travesty of justice. I hope Waco is bankrupted and made destitute.

Still mocking, actually.

The Confederation Of Motorcycle Clubs And Independents meetings are boring affairs open to the public (and which have been around for decades) wherein bills in the legislature are discussed in light of riders complying and not getting tickets.

The likelihood of Gangs planning a rumble at one of those meetings is akin to Mafiosos planing a massacre at Easter Mass.

TG was insistent from the beginning that only hard core drug dealers and pimps would be at this crowded restaurant on a Sunday afternoon.

What went around has come back around, and only people who never rode motorcycles responsibly expected anything different.

He is anti biker to the point that he cheers crooked cops starting a shootout, killing many and forcing hundreds to face no bail including bystanders. This was a dirty cop hit from the start but TG cheers on anyone who will kill bikers. Heaven forbid Mexican drug cartels and bikers have a fight for he will cheer the cartels. There is a deep and personal hatred of bikers. Must be serious IMHO.

Looks like it’s widely known and understood there’s a corrupt law enforcement mentality in the Waco area. Texas has a real problem there. I hope they are Texan enough to take care of it.

I wonder how the ex-cop feels about that.

I drove through there years ago. It was before this happened but obviously well after Janet Reno and company did their little venture. Just saw that piece of garbage Bill Clinton on TV. Old video when he was making excuses.

Anyways, it was really weird driving through there. I don’t think I stopped once and if I did it was only for gas.

Never had that feeling in any town, especially any town in Texas before or since.

Waco is useful for being the Home of Dr. Pepper, The Texas Rangers Hall of Fame Museum and some of the worst Public Water Quality in the State of Texas.

Other than that just keep on driving.

To: Elderberry; y'all

Man this whole debacle has evolved about like we all figured it would from jump off when things didn’t look like LEO accounts

Hasn’t it?

The govt is bout as forthcoming about their malfeasance as our DOJ and FBI is about attempting to subvert our election

I’m about tired of all this crap

And add on leftist cops in urban areas who collide with ANTIFA against patriot groups

it’s a discouraging time

Met one of the Texas Rangers way back in the 1980’s. And later, one of his former teammates who went on to another team (met him about 7 years ago - was sitting next to him in a small restaurant).
