FOX NEWS: Scott Pruitt resigns as EPA chief, Trump announces

Scott Pruitt has resigned as head of the Environmental Protection Agency after a string of controversies involving his leadership, President Trump announced Thursday on Twitter.

"Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this," tweeted Trump, who added that EPA Deputy Administrator Andrew Wheeler would take over as acting administrator effective Monday.

...on Monday assume duties as the acting Administrator of the EPA. I have no doubt that Andy will continue on with our great and lasting EPA agenda. We have made tremendous progress and the future of the EPA is very bright!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 5, 2018 "I have no doubt that Andy will continue on with our great and lasting EPA agenda," Trump concluded. "We have made tremendous progress and the future of the EPA is very bright!"

In his resignation letter to Trump, Pruitt said: "It is extremely difficult for me to cease serving you in this role first because I count it a blessing to be serving you in any capacity, but also, because of the transformative work that is occurring.

"However, the unrelenting attacks on me personally [and] my family, are unprecedented and have taken a sizable toll on all of us," Pruitt added.

Pruitt resigned less than a week after The New York Times reported that the EPA's chief ethics official, Kevin Minoli, had been pushing for a series of independent investigation into several aspects of Pruitt's tenure. Those include Pruitt's rental of a Washington D.C. condominium from a lobbyist's spouse and his alleged use of staff to handle personal matters.

Very happy with his work cleaning up the EPA habit of writing laws they called regulations, and then getting those regs shut down.

NOT happy with all the, "I'm a big wheel and I am going to get all the freebies for me while I have a chance. I have Administor Privilege." Assuming at least some of it is true, it's the same old crap that's been hurting both parties over the years.

It's part of why the approval rating for Congress is usually in single digits. Only their families, friends, and lobbyists approve.

I don’t have any faith that someone as good will be confirmed by the Senate.

Re: “Pruitt is a grifter, corruptible and contemptuous of the taxpayer’s money he so gleefully wastes. Good riddance.”

And you believe this because the New York Times, Senate Democrats, the Sierra Club, and a Deep State "Ethics" Officer say so?

It irritates me that Liberal teacher who confronted him in the restaurant got her way.

It is going to do nothing but embolden them to be more combative against administration officials.

If only we had a GOP majority. I guess we'd better get out and vote, in fact, what a great incentive to GOTV for Republicans (a good strategy for midterms).

We on the Right need to create a "strike force" that can take out Democrat administration officials if the Democrats ever control the Executive branch again, since the Media Death Star protects the corrupt Democrats.

It would be dangerous, because the Democrats would use the Federal agencies to target people in the strike force, as they've done with their enemies for many years.

And the Media would actively suppress information about the targeting, while assisting the embattled Dem corruptocrats.

That’s what worries me. You know that heifer with the kid who was harassing him while he tried to eat is going to be tweeting all day “This is how we do it, people!” and it’s going to be open season on any conservative in sight.

What do you know that he is guilty of? Anything specific?

That would be a "strike force" to smear, expose and harass Democrat administration officials, and hound them out of office - just like the Democrat Media is doing to Trump administration officials now.

Nothing more than that.

I can just see some screaming SJW showflake getting his or her panties in a twist over the wording of my previous post.

You’re talking about the heifer who lives at 308 Penwood Road
Silver Spring, MD 20901, and whose husband is an apologist for wife-beaters that play for the Baltimore Ravens (Ray Rice, who knocked his fiancee out in an elevator on video, in particular).

You know that heifer

Nice touch!

I NEVER hear that, especially as an epithet, outside my home area where it is a commonplace lol.

What.... You are advocating what the Clintons, Bushes, and Obama engaged in. What do yo think the FBI insurance policy that Lisa Page mentions was. Being a Republic is hard we as citizens must be engaged. the answer is not mimicking the behavior of those who have used there positions in government and bureaucracy to enrich themselves.... this means that sometimes we will lose the battles but if you do what you have mentioned you have lost the war because now you are engaged in something that will spin out of control and have engaged in fascism.

let me give you a list of people possibly taken out by this type of thinking.

1. Andrew Breitbart
2. Seth rich
3, Vince foster
4 Marry Mahoney
5. Ron Brown

I don't want any part of your thinking....

the best thing we can do is inform people so they make good decision's.

Pruitt is a grifter, corruptable and contemptous of the taxpayer’s money he so gleefully wastes.

That money is supposed to be spent enforcing the job killing environmental regulations that liberals forced upon us.

How dare Pruitt spend it otherwise.

Idiot.

The only way I think this is a good move, is if he plans to appoint him as Attorney General. The Rinos and leftists have taken another scalp, and that needs to STOP!
