The Lexington restaurant opened its doors for dinner for the first time in nearly two weeks after it gained national attention for refusing to serve White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and asking her to leave.

(snip)

Trump supporters flocked to the restaurant in protest after news broke, hoping to send the message that people need to “start showing a little respect for the President of the United States,” Grub Street reports.

That’s not enough to make the property tax payment.

*************

Maybe so but they opened in 2008.
Maybe a tax write off situation.

“They will have some traffic after a bit, with hate filled lefties from nearby DC and Richmond paying homage.”

What is “nearby” to you? If you go by Interstate, Lexington is three hours SW of DC and two hours west of Richmond. That seems a long way to go for lunch to me. Local lefty academics and transplants who live in the high priced historic homes within the city limits are more than enough to fill up that little place.

Terrible! Shouldn’t twitter delete tweets that promote illegal actions?

I’ve never heard of a time in the history of USA when Jews were routinely denied entry to a restaurant or other establishment. They were welcomed here as refugees in both world wars. Yes, if you mean prejudice, that existed.

You never heard of the story of the St Louis did you when the FDR admin refused to let Jews who had tried to come in as refugees into this country. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_St._Louis

FDR hated Jews!

Certainly the exception not the rule, but English and French are antisemitic to this day (and anti-Israeli of course).

The only reason I liked the CFA coleslaw was to dump it on their sandwich. Was doing that for decades then they dropped it for kale salad. Blech.

The owner can print off and paste ANY message in the window she wants. Did anybody expect her to put up a sign saying “We’re only half booked.”?

They were denied membership in Country Clubs and other assorted type elite groups... In Palm Beach (years ago) Trump made a point of inviting Jewish people into his club...

The town council, seeing Trump as an ostentatious outsider, handed him a list of restrictions as he sought to transform the property in the 1990s. Membership, traffic, party attendance, even photography — all would be strictly limited.

But Trump undercut his adversaries with a searing attack, claiming that local officials seemed to accept the established private clubs in town that had excluded Jews and blacks while imposing tough rules on his inclusive one.

Trump’s lawyer sent every member of the town council copies of two classic movies about discrimination: “A Gentleman’s Agreement,” about a journalist who pretends to be Jewish to expose anti-Semitism, and “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” about a white couple’s reaction to their daughter bringing home a black fiance.

The move infuriated council members, who said it was a distraction from their concerns that Trump’s club would spoil a quiet street. But, in time, Trump got most of the restrictions lifted.

Twitter may have deleted those tweets, but I’d much rather they leave them up for all to see the true leftist mindset - which is evil.

Lexington is home to Washington and Lee and VMI

other schools close by as well

Locals are split between true locals and transplants

If they are camping or visiting the Shenandoah valley, they will come. That goes away when it gets cold and as time goes on.
