Judge Raymond Kethledge, by some reports now the frontrunner to receive President Donald Trumps nomination to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, could put Trumps America First policies in jeopardy if he were to become the swing vote on the nations highest court.
Since President George W. Bush appointed Kethledge to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, he has consistently demonstrated interpretations of immigration law at odds with the conservative wing of the Supreme Court and, more broadly, the notion that American immigration laws exist for the benefit of Americans. He has also shown a willingness to inject his own sympathies with the plight of illegal aliens facing deportation into his opinions.

“The media primarily care about two things: Will the nominee allow a massive wave of unvetted filthy people to swamp us from the south? and Will the nominee allow irresponsible women (and girls) to kill their babies if they feel like doing so?
Okay, three things, because they also really really care about damaging President Trump in any way possible.”
He’s still better on the issue than Hardiman, who is supposedly on the short list again and would be a Kennedy-like “swing vote” on other issues.
McConnell has told the NYT that he supports Kethledge and is trying to get President Trump to nominate him.
Kethledge is the favorite of McConnell and the Republican establishment.
