The Democratic Socialist candidate seeking to represent New York’s 14th Congressional District is facing backlash over her working class “Bronx girl” campaign narrative.
As the Journal News reported, the original online bio for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez -- the 28-year-old Bernie Sanders protégé who defeated longtime Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley on June 26 -- seemed to suggest that she commuted to a school in the suburbs from her family's home in the Bronx borough of New York City.
But after critics noted that she and her family left the Bronx when she was 5 years old, the bio was changed to imply that the Bronx was home to her "extended family," the newspaper reported.
Still, no mention was made that her family moved to Yorktown, north of the Bronx, where records indicate Ocasio-Cortez lived with her mother and brother until their home was sold in 2016 for $355,500, according to the report.

Ocuckoo Cortez running on her race klan platform. Ocasio-Cortez is just Hugo Chavez in drag. She wants to institute all the failed policies that made Puerto Rico and Venezuela and other Latin American nations undesirable places to live if not outright shitholes. The same policies that caused her and her family to flee to a majority white America. We have nothing to learn from Latin Americans and they have nothing to show us.
She framed her candidacy in racial terms and as a campaign against whites and won. Funny how so called anti-racists like Antifag and the (((media))) have no problem with race baiting when it comes from the left and non-whites and in fact champion it as “progress”. Will Bobby De niro be threatening to punch her lights out?
Now self hating, virtue signaling white males are being thrown overboard in the Democrat party by the growing rainbow coalition. That wasn’t supposed to happen. A fire bell in the night indeed and this is probably just the first of many more

No one. Everybody knows Country X failed because they didn’t do it right. We’ll be different because we will put the “right” people and the “right” policies in place. It will work this time.
That’s the standard Socialist mantra when asked how to do ‘it’ right. Ed Asner was one of the first actors to use it, but it has always been there in one form or another after Country X failed.

True!!1 My husband grew up there and they had a nice colonial that his parents bought in the 60’s that was typical suburbia, no mini mansion, but worth about half a million when they sold it to downsize.
However, the quiet suburbs of Yorktown were certainly not the housing projects in the Bronx!! This young women was/is most certainly lying about the environment she grew up in and the subsequent experiences she had in an expensive suburban school system.
Surely she can have some Democratic fixers back-date some papers for her to rewrite the history—I know it has never been done before but... :-)
Constitutional eligibility for a given office is a quaint little anachronism that went out the window in 2008.

True, but there are areas of Yorktown near the City of Peekskill that are more Bronx-like than quiet suburbs.

When Alexandria’s election chances crash and burn (figuratively speaking, of course), maybe the Democrats will gravitate (!) to Stormy, who is an even more appropriate candidate for them.

This is correct, although the outskirts of Peekskill are less rough than the housing projects in the Bronx. Not to quibble, just to reinforce that this young woman was not at all truthful about her background.
