Mike Lee has never even served as a judge in any capacity in his life. I simply don’t see what makes him such an appealing candidate for a U.S. Supreme Court post, when he has no relevant track record at all.

Levin is one of the foremost authorities on the Constitution. Same with Dershewitz. It doesn’t matter how much people hate Levin, when it comes to the Constitution, Levin is spot on.
Remember no woman has ever moved OR stayed conservative as a SC Justice. Sorry they cannot be depended on. This is too important take no chances.
Maybe because there has been only 1 women picked by a Republican to have served on the SC. Amy Barrett would be only the 2nd women.

I don't know why you would say this. Almost all of the SC justices who were nominated by Republicans and became hard-core leftists on the bench were men.
No politicians on SCOTUS, please......
Sort of a small sampling seeing that there’s only been 1 woman who was appointed to the SC by a republican.
My choice would be writer Erick Erickson, who has a law degree.
You know he’ll be solid on all critical issues.

Abortion is a non-issue. The federal government has no legitimate Constitutional power to regulate it, so it will continue in New York, Oregon, California, Maryland, etc.

Lee has not been a judge, which I believe is important (as a lawyer). He would be at a tremendous disadvantage in the Court with all those experienced jurtists. Kagan is similarly hamstrung which is a GOOD thing. She is just an uninformed NO vote for the Constitution. She follows Ginsberg (who herself was not a Judge but the ACLU’s lawyer). Sotomayor was a Judge but she has a ton of left wing biases which blind her, although now and then she comes up with a solid ruling on non-constitutional issues.
Pryor was the prosecutor of Judge Moore over the Ten Commandments monument. He is weak on religious freedom.
You can count on Levin one hundred percent to out his fellow open borders moles.

You have one data point. You really can't learn much with one data point. Sandra was always a moderate (whatever that is) and she stayed moderate so your one data point is off.
There are not more than a half dozen or so "Republican" US Senators who don't hate their base.
Would you nominate a leftist to the Supreme Court for 5 years? The age “requirement” is ridiculous. I would say go for a strong constitutionalist, originalist. 10-15 years of solid decisions would do wonders for the country

Lee, not in my top 5 but its worth considering in a couple respects. Good chance his senate replacement would not be such a vocal never-Trumper and one voice of constant criticism from there gone.
Secondly, I do believe he has good conservative instincts and would not violate those principles from the bench out of spite to stick it to Trump. Overall, the upside of a Lee pick would be mostly to silence an annoying voice in the Senate which is just not reason enough FOR the pick.
Personally, I favor Kethledge but will be fine with Barrett or Hardiman also. I trust President Trump’s instincts on this.
