On this evening's Hardball, liberal, pro-choice, Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus urged red-state Dem senators to vote to confirm President Trump's SCOTUS nominee. Marcus said it would be a "suicide mission" for red-state Dems to vote Trump's pick. That's how you know confirmation is a done deal.
Marcus said she'd be "stunned" if any Republican senator, including pro-choicers like Collins or Murkowski voted against Trump's pick. Continued Marcus:

One would only hope so. It would be nice that as they got more desperate the various shades of Far Left that now constitutes the DNC began eating each other over ideological purity. I expect the Cultural Marxist will be leading the way in this respect.
Why even have hearings if they have all declared in lock step that they aren’t going to vote for anyone that Trump picks. Just take it straight to a vote and spare the nominee the abuse and nastiness that will be coming their way.

But more seriously, got to keep the weenies in the RNC happy. And the weenies in the RNC just can’t seem to be happy unless they think they’re being all Statesmen like (which usually seems to mean being nice to Democrats).
And with some fresh new conservative senators too.
Interesting when you consider that not two days ago “safe” Dick Durbin was telling his Red State colleagues to fall on their swords and reject the nominee, even if it costs them their seats.
This gets better every hour.
I hope they vote for the Trump nominee, but still lose their elections. The USA was not founded to be a communist country.
Go for it. Worst case scenario, their Republican successors confirm the pick in January.
I figure red-state ‘rats are dead either way - anger their base by voting with Trump - energize the Republicans by voting against him - tough call either way - for them......
Exactly when Trump names the Ginsburg or Breyer replacements (and hopefully both) and possibly even Sotomayor’s replacement watching their heads explode and the end of the activist court inventing rights and laws from thin air, that has been going on for the last 60 years... and they will be forced to actually get legislatures to pass laws for their insanity instead of pressuring a black robe to edict it.
