Kavanaugh incurred tens of thousands in credit card debt buying Washington Nationals tickets: report

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh amassed tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt in part by purchasing baseball tickets to Washington Nationals games, according to a Washington Post review of Kavanaugh’s financial disclosures and information provided by the White House.

Kavanaugh has reported having up to $200,000 in credit card debt during the past 10 years, according to the Post's report. In 2006 — the year he was confirmed as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit — he reported having between $60,000 to $200,000 in debt.

Do “financial assets” include equity in one’s house? IRAs or other pension funds?

Very good hair. Features could be made glamorous with makeup or left plain, but quite regular. Clothing choice is feminist-frumpy.

If he took free tickets from anyone the headlines would be screaming about corruption!

Last year, Kavanaugh's credit card debts and loan appeared to be paid off or fell below the year's reporting requirements, according to the Post. Shah told the paper that the judge's friends reimbursed him for their share of the tickets and that Kavanaugh no longer buys season tickets.

This is the important statement. And, financial checks to vet him for the SC nomination would have verified his outstanding debts, so this is undoubtedly true.

And don’t forget to get a list of books he and his family checked out from the public library; the video’s he rented from Blockbuster, Netflix and Redbox; supena Amazon to get a list of his purchases; ask Victoria’s Secrets if he made any purchases there; & etc.

Which is the greater crime BofA or attending Nats games. Horns of dilemma here.

But buying his own is somehow a scandal?

No kidding.

As others have said...likely season tix. Those do NOT come cheap!

And, he - like millions of other Americans - charge it, then pay it off, immediately....to get the airline points :-)

Kavanaugh has always had friends or family present and left no security holes. Being clean cut is a good personal policy for a man headed for the Supreme Court. The so-called resistance would do better to give it up. For us, though, the commies should waste all of their money and energy on impotent foolishness.

$20k/year on cards? I do way more than that... and pay them in full every month too. I like getting the points, and rarely use cash.

Wow. That is a sloppy story. Probably an intentionally sloppy story to create an innuendo. The one specific example given is that he purchased several sets of Nats season tickets, not only for himself but for a group of friends. He put the block of tickets on his card and was reimbursed by his friends. That is not a problem. It just means he had a high limit/no limit card and trusted his friends to reimburse promptly.

I charge at least $20,000 a year. I am also debt free and pay off my balance every month. But using my credit card has benefits, like getting cash back and getting free airline tickets. All at the expense of the suckers who take credit cards.
