To re-establish the “legitimacy” of the investigation after the Strzok hearing and IG report.
The media and the Dems trumpeted it as a major breakthrough in the investigation, proof that there was no “witch hunt” against Trump, etc. Nevermind there are no allegations or evidence of “Russian collusion” that was the point of the “witch hunt” attacks by Trump.
