President Trumps administration has a selfish attitude toward intellectual property rights, a Chinese diplomat said Friday amid the White House's crackdown on IP theft.
No one has the monopoly over the application of IPR to promote social and economic development, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told reporters. Innovation and IPR shall be harnessed for the progress and benefit of all mankind, instead of being reduced to a tool used by the U.S. to suppress others' development and serve its selfish interests.

Never mind their rare earth reserves. Sure don’t see them sharing that instead of being “selfish”.
They regard such eternal divine laws as “the opium of the people”.
China considers industrial espionage and intellectual property theft to be cutting edge research. Some day the US should just cancel several hundred billion in US debt held by China as compensation for all their patent and intellectual property theft.
China is full of Commies?
Who knew?
The US relationship with China should never have gone beyond diplomatic relations until China ended communism and became a true representative government which recognized the rights of its citizens.
...No one has the monopoly over the application of IPR to promote social and economic development...
Just one foundation of communism. Like Hellary saying, “We are going to take a few things from you for the common good.”
We are blessed to have DJT.
Dear China: THINK FOR YOURSELVES!
IP is selfish and is meant to be selfish!
I didn’t see some commie Chinese creating that IP!
Obama and his fellow Chinese commies can kiss my “I made it!” ass!
Chinese Universities are patenting everyones research from AI journals. Not just their own research but everyone elses research where the researchers did not file for patent protection. The main countries in the world have first to file patent systems and not first to invent.
Not a chance. The Chinese bought one copy of Windows and copied it 300 million times to run their whole country.
They should entitle this the Cheaters and Freeloaders Manafesto. They think they have a right to anything we invent if it benefits them. WRONG.
Such is always of socialist and communist countries. Stealing the wealth created by other people is what the do best.
Dea China, why don’t you demonstrate how you benefit all mankind just in China instead of just the party elite.
Fools. Very intelligent, but fools. This mind set is why China has so little innovation of its own, despite turning out huge numbers of engineers and techs, these days.
I guess we should not tell them — if the Chinese learned to do (motivate) their own original innovations, they’d be a much more difficult force to reckon with.
Trump’s superpower is getting America’s enemies foreign and domestic to blurt out their true intentions.
Deserves to be written on the side of Air Force One!!
says the country that steals everyone elses ideas and makes junkier knockoffs.
We need to return to “First to Invent” instead of the current “First to File” policy beloved by foreign thieves everywhere.
This is Obama’s fault. He’s the one who sabotaged our IP system.
There are pandas ALL over the world —all owned by China.
Yeah, they’re ALL on loan.
It’s not just an average level of owndership rights, it’s an OTHER WORLDLY level.
How China thinks is “what’s yours is mine and what’s mine is gonna be locked up in a legal FORT KNOX..!”
If you know of a sharper case of hypocrisy, then let me know.
If the rest of the world were anything like China, then ALL her pandas would be stolen, plus about 10 million chows painted up like faux pandas.
....”Stealing the wealth created by other people is what the do best”......
Rather like the Demorats do here.
