There are no Republicans THAT liberal anymore, the last ones were the likes of Roy Goodman, I don’t think even Dede Scuzzobama was as bad as Case.
You can’t go by his rhetoric, words are meaningless. I wouldn’t imagine he’d be worse than the average NJ RINO in the House no matter what he’s said.
And the vote for control automatically adds a shi*-ton of points to every Republican so even if CASE were still alive and slightly to the left of Menendez overall (which I wouldn’t be so sure of, ACU ratings aren’t perfect especially comparing with a guy from decades ago) I’d still prefer him so long as he wasn’t threatening to leave the party. These 1 seat majorities on committees are BS.

2 words: Bob Dold. Dold scored a 13% in 2015 and an 8%(!) in 2016 from the ACU. How on God’s Green Earth this guy could even get renominated voting indistinguishably from the Communist left of the Democrats defies the imagination. Even Carlos Curbelo in FL hit a rock-bottom 12% in 2016, although bounced back up to a 48% in 2017, but even the 48% is terrible.
Again with the only going by ACU ratings, there is no chance in hell he’s anywhere near as liberal as any rat in the state other than Lipinksi.
As for being renominated, he had no primary challenger in 2012, ‘14, or ‘16.
Of course he only won the 2010 primary because Santa backed him.

FEARLESS PREDICTION: Chelsea Clinton will be elected to the US Senate by the State of New Jersey in 2018.
Yeah... I know... Hear me out...
In October, it will be clear the Robert Menendez is going down to defeat. The Democrats cannot afford to lose this seat, so they will perform another Torricelli Switch after the ballot deadline.
They will need a big name, with instant name recognition, to run in the short campaign. Senator Lautenberg is dead and no longer available (as opposed to last time when he was dead AND available). So what other name is there on the Democrat side bigger than Clinton?
Hillary does not want to go back to the Senate and Bill is... Bill, so the job will fall to Chelsea.
There will be a week of lawsuits and hooting and hollering, but the NJ Supremos will step in and settle the matter with about two weeks to go. In a short campaign Democrats will step all over themselves to rush to the polls and cast a ballot for somebody named “Clinton”.
Chelsea will run on a centrist Democrat “Third Way” platform, and there will be no stopping her.
