It aint easy being a conservative these days. New reports are popping up every week about conservatives being denied service at restaurants and now even from a ride-sharing company solely because of their political beliefs.
Six Republican campaign volunteers have a similar story. They say they were kicked out of an Uber on Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina, as their driver told them welcome to the resistance.
Mary Russell, a volunteer, and Chris Godbey, the Executive Director of the Young Republicans National Federation, sat down with the Daily Caller to share their horrifying experience.
Their crime? Talking politics amongst themselves in front of their driver who apparently didnt agree with their political views.

I wish these lefties would start wearing armbands so we can tell who the thought police are from the normals.
I am not being a devil’s advocate but I remember not too many years ago when a tow truck operator in Asheville, NC refused to assist a driver in need because of the liberal political bumper stickers she had plastered on her car. I for one was amused by his refusal.
Unless one has a good reason to talk about politics or one’s personal beliefs in the company of strangers, maybe it would be best to keep one’s opinions to one’s self. It used to be that political talk was unacceptable in polite company.
And another thing to consider is that a business has the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, even Sarah Sanders (as much as I admire that lady).
They are going to regret this.
In the case of the Red Hen, the owner then got a group of people to harass Sanders at another restaurant across the street.
Are you familiar with Kipling’s Dane Geld?
Complying with the demands of the offendsensitive and/or SJWs is much the same. Even if the cost seems trivial they should not be accommodated.
S Besides, offendsensitive people seem to like being offended. They spend so much effort being offended. Help them to be miserably happy by ignoring their demands. It’s the caring thing to do. /S
Agree. I steer away from politics on my Facebook page. I know I am not going to change the POV of any of my Leftist friends and they are not going to change my POV. Surprisingly, I have been bullied a bit from a couple of friends on the Right, for not standing up for Right wing causes and not liking the stuff they put up. They are good enough friends to stay friends (and from high school, so long term friends), but I stand my ground. There is NO POINT in being political on Facebook.
Actually, they should have attacked and removed his keys and then his phone.
I used to fly a turbo prop charter plane. There were certain customers who suffered through propellers being out of harmonic balance and aggressive changes in cabin pressure. I couldn’t help myself. I anticipate the same subtle insults from my adversaries, so why identify yourself to those you entrust purely by circumstances?
That said, once an Uber driver has already picked up a passenger, he has an implied contract. Sue the driver's pants off. It's as if the now-famous Christian baker had accepted the request to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple, and then announced the day of the wedding that he'd changed his mind. Ok to refuse the business up front. Not ok if he's reneging on an agreement and leaving someone dangling.
"...either we arrive at our destination for which we contracted, or your brains will be on the windscreen..."
And the business needs to accept the consequences of doing that.
I completely agree that choices have consequences. I’m glad that the Red Hen was plucked.
I know. They were doubling down on stupid. To me they should have been charged with stalking.
Their car is your car, if you're paying for the ride - and the driver *did* click on the app and deliberately accepted the task of delivering someone to a specified destination. Period.
I'd love to see what Uber's policy manual for these drivers has to say about ejecting "offensive" riders at places other than the *contracted* destinations.
"...politics in public..."
A cab driver would lose their a card for doing the same.
I hope they rated this driver a 1, which would help to dramatically lower their overall rating becauss you are dropped from Uber if you are below 4.7 usually.
But yeah sue Uber for endangerment, denial of service, whatever.
Cabbies are required to pick up and deliver ALL passengers ANYWHERE unless they are actively threatening our health and safety. So even if crazy or high or drunk or stinky or whatever we still have to take them where they want to go. We are forbidden by law to refuse a fare.
Besides, who wants to be in the Uber when the deranged leftwinger driver is the nutjob behind the steering wheel, accelerator, and brakes!?!?
————————————————————————————————————— An excellent point!
Bkmrk.
This violates Contract Law.
Once the agreement is made, you can’t violate the contract without both parties agreeing.
Open and Shut case and Uber better address this quickly or they are in deep doo-doo.
Really influential people have manners. It’s not about business or performance in contract. It’s about behaviour in public. Expressing personal convictions has risks.
