‘I was wondering if there was a strong correlation with the number of lowered Chebbys.”
Heh, we all are silently asking the same question.

While visiting friends in El Paso, they took us for a ride down into Mexico.
All the parking lots had ‘security’.

They said that when you acquire enough money, you purchase a uniform, then stake-out a parking lot to ‘guard’.

Collect tips for not allowing the cars to be stolen.
And maybe call in when a high-value ride shows up?

A full-time job.

Ding ding ding a winner! Higher end cars and pickups end up in Mexico for the used car market and average cars, vans and trucks are favored for running illegals north.

“Sounds like the Albuquerque PD has to get a few “ bait cars” up and running”

No, the Albuquerque police used to be extremely good. But the mayor and his minions listened to BLM et al and cracked down on the police hard. He invited in Obama’s DOJ to oversee the department.

The cops there are scared to death of being prosecuted.
That’s how they became number one in car thefts. The city got tough on the cops and went with hug a thug instead.

The Alliance...of rust.

A friend and former Chrysler man traded in a near new trouble prone Chrysler for an AMC Alliance, mid 1980’s.

He loved the car, claimed it was the BEST car he ever owned!

He kept it for about ten years, gave it to a friend that drove it for another five years!

I used to work in the building right next door on Montano Rd, but I never made it over there!

At one time, one of the most stolen
vehicles in Albq was a AMC Jeep CJ7.
Mexicans drug runners love 4X4’s.

I was thinking that stadiums were lightning rods for car thefts and car vandalism. The owner is going to be away for 3 hours or so.

No AMC jeep, the cars are disposable.

My uncle came to visit me in Albuquerque several years ago with his motorhome and Ford Escape in tow. After leaving my house, he went to El Paso to see an Army buddy. He was inside his friends house 15 minutes, he came outside and found the Escape gone.

I was just teasing, mate.
The Renault 9 was a pretty decent car.

Why there? Anyone?

My uneducated guess?
Alaska is an ultra expensive existence location.
Grossly Populated (and enabled?) by the willingly idle. For them, crime is their profession.

Sure, we send some of our guys from Hobbs to our Alb location for training once in a while, our location is close to University and Menaul so it is a little sketchy there. Twice in the last couple years we have had guys’ trucks stolen staying at the Holiday Inn Express on Menaul. I have stayed up there a lot, usually at the Clubhouse and never had any trouble. Lately we have changed our preferred place to stay to NE Jefferson & I-25 but honestly I'm not sure that's any better.

We’re No. 1! We’re No. 1!

Oh, wait.

Toss up to be whether Hobbes or ABQ is more dangerous.

I sadly know the ins-and-ours of Hobbes well, so I lean towards ABQ.

I’ve taken to using both a wheel lock on the steering wheel and a bright yellow chain with a MEDECO lock run between two wheels. (Yellow because I want them to see it is locked and not screw up the truck trying to drive away.)
