President Trump’s longtime lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, secretly recorded a conversation with Mr. Trump two months before the presidential election in which they discussed payments to a former Playboy model who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump, according to lawyers and others familiar with the recording.
The F.B.I. seized the recording this year during a raid on Mr. Cohen’s office. The Justice Department is investigating Mr. Cohen’s involvement in paying women to tamp down embarrassing news stories about Mr. Trump ahead of the 2016 election. Prosecutors want to know whether that violated federal campaign finance laws, and any conversation with Mr. Trump about those payments would be of keen interest to them.

If so, that is the definition of attorney client privilege. How Mueller gets away with that raid, and then leaking is beyond me. Cohen is bound by the privilege from disclosing it himself.

Does Trump have anyone he can trust? He probably used to say to his attorney Cohen: that guy I fired was leaking and wasn’t to be trusted, there are Obama leftovers all over the back offices here and listening devices everywhere and I can’t talk to any Congressional RINOS. There were many in Little Rock and many thought some were for the Clinton Foundation. They were unsealed recently, all were for drugs and guns. I read that when the attorney was sent to Little Rock he shut down any investigation of the CF.

I do see an angle on this one too, if the Enquirer were to have paid her for the story then canned it by request from Trump.
That could be seen as a campaign contribution I guess. The courts would have to sort that out.

I don’t seem to remember this number of backlogged indictments though. I’m sure they aren’t all from the D.C. Justice department offices focused on Hillary and company.

Not every conversation with a lawyer is privileged. If Cohen was not acting an Trump's lawyer with respect to that matter, there's no privilege.
(a) It may be-- but is not necessarily-- privileged, so it may be inadmissible in court.
(b) Privilege issues aside, if it was recorded illegally, it is still admissible, unless the illegal recording was made by a government agent.
