I was born in ‘54. People used to take pictures of their naked kids. Granted, it wasn’t roll after roll, but times were a lot looser and I think it was innocent. Nobody thought much about it. The YMCA had nude workouts until sometime in the ‘60’s. Practically every comedian had a routine about it. My Mom had a photo of me bare-assed on a bear skin on the wall. Don’t remember how old I was, not very. Times change. (But, damn. You have to wonder what was going through that man’s head. If that was taken anytime in the twenty-first century, it was poorly considered. On the other hand, if that’s the only indiscretion on his list, he may eventually recover from it. It depends on how well his books sell, really.)
A lot of people have no idea how things they do will be received and are shocked when people react negatively. Humor can be like that. When Trump said about McCain he preferred men who weren’t taken prisoner, it was a joke. It fell flat.
Scott Adams has an interesting point about viewpoint. For some people, where the line is drawn is dramatically different.
