CHICAGO (WLS) -- A group is planning to shut down part of Lake Shore Drive on Chicago's North Side for an anti-violence protest next week.
The demonstration is scheduled for 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, which will be as fans are headed to the Cubs-Padres games.

snow thrower
Yeah, the one in National Lampoon’s Christmas just before the opening search for a family Christmas tree.
Test it out before the snow season-—now.
Lake shore drive north side?!
Why dont they take their anti-violence march to where the violence is on the south side?
We must condemn the violence that happens at the anti-violence march.
And no, it is not acceptable for their leadership to be silent while their fellow followers are burning down the town. Yet, they rarely condemn their fellow cohorts when they are being violent. That makes them complicit IMHO.
Either way, they have lost the right to claim that they are peaceful.
Closing interstates, state roads, and any roads used for commerce or emergency use is absolutely infuriating to me.
I have trouble controlling my ongoing anger over that but I read the Holy Bible daily and keep trying.
Law enforcement could help a little, too.
Feel sorry for the police & game goers.
Another damned march. March for this, march for that, march, march, march.
From July 7, 2018:
Anti-violence protesters shut down Dan Ryan: ‘Today was the attention-getter, but now comes the action’
“But with semi-trucks crawling past the few thousand protesters crowded onto the expressway, Pfleger, the marchs chief organizer, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson stopped and reiterated their desire to fill all northbound lanes with chanting, drumming demonstrators. The priest from St. Sabina Catholic Church spoke with commanders at the scene, including Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson.”
‘Reverends’ Pflegler and Jackson need to see the inside of a jail cell.
What did you say to convince the brothers that you were down with the struggle?
Free stuff on that day? Riots? Maybe, because it is the brownshirt anti-violence crowd. The left has done a great job breeding these people in our schools for decades. Now they get the fruit of their labor.
I also think about the person, couple, family, or friends who planned a trip to Chicago. They saved & scraped together the money & this is going to be their once in a lifetime trip. All or partially ruined by idiots.
Some people must have really accommodating jobs to show up during a workday./s
So many Prop Bets come to mind. Under / overs of victims, shooters, shooters+victims, hospitalizations, deaths...
Indeed. It's been "the baddest part of town" since way before 1973.
I don’t understand why this is allowed. Why are protestors allowed to block traffic at all? I think they should be arrested as a public nuisance.
I would be all ears to hear what solutions these people propose. More prisons? I thought that was a no-no. More cops? Another no-no. More gun laws? They don't even obey the existing laws.
Okay, okay, I've got it! More "po'grums". Gots to hab mo' gub'mint po'grums.
I’ve been to gun shows. Never a problem.
For as much "marching" as they do, they seem unable to march to work.
They won’t do their march in the South side because the media won’t go down there. It’s too dangerous. So they have to bring their protest up to where the media snowflakes feel safe so that they can get the word out. It is like protests in foreign countries that wave banners around in English and none of them speak the language.
So rather then go into the high crime areas and make a show of force to stop those actually doing the violence theyd rather virtue signal at the Starbucks...
