Elizabeth Warren eyes 50% tax rate, says Dems will end Trump tax cuts if they take back Congress

Elections have consequences. Just Senator Elizabeth Warren, who suggested that a 50% to 90% personal income tax rate for Americans is not out of the question. Warren made the shocking admission in an interview with CNBC.

Warren also promised that Democrats will end President Trump’s tax cuts if they take control of Congress in November 2018.

CNBC’s anti-Trump pundit, John Harwood, asked Warren: “If Democrats take the Congress…would you like to see these corporate tax cuts repealed?”

Senator Warren replied: “Yeah, I really want to see them rolled back.”

Question: “Back to 35%?”

Warren replied: “Well, it’s not about the number. Here’s how I look at budgets, and taxes are at the heart of this. A lot of people think they’re just numbers; they’re not. They are the expression of our values. The values of the Republican Party that passed those tax cuts are to give $1.5 trillion away to the richest Americans and the biggest corporations, and let everybody else pick up the crumbs.”

She added: “We need a budget, we need a tax bill that works for all of us. So what I’d like to see is I’d like to see us strengthen America’s middle class.”

And the 14th amendment:
nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

The shareholders pay the taxes, but the corporate taxes are already collected before the share holders get their dividends So they’re taxes twice. Since all corporations are owned by individuals ie shareholders, then business taxes are just the government double dipping in the public trough

Nope. The end consumer pays all costs of a product whether it be taxes, labor, materials, shipping, everything. You are talking about internal cost structure where things can be moved around all over.

Hey it worked for Clinton. Hammered G.H.W. Bush for raising taxes, promised a middle class tax cut, 6 months later claimed he worked hard but couldn’t make the tax cut work so he raised taxes retroactively instead.

That is factually incorrect. Tax reform cut business cost massively this year as did dereg. Why is CPI higher TTM than TTM 1 year ago

Yes, it is double taxation, but that is irrelevant as to who ultimately bears the taxes (or what % of the tax). But some of the tax is born by management, not just shareholders. Personally, I’d implement a 15% across the board tariff on imports and eliminate corporate tax.

Gee, why didn't she just say, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need”? Tax the upper crust so the “poor” have more than crumbs. Obama just admitted in his South Africa speech that he doesn't need endless millions to live on, no one does. That was the day it was announced he and his two wives purchased their rental for $8mil. These communists will rue the day their idle dreams come true. Because the first people done away with are the leadership. That's the real definition of “dog eat dog”.
