I would say that is now true of any lawyer.
It almost seems like he suckered the left with evidence which exonerates Pres. Trump.
Where did Cohen say the affair happened?
“I think its a major assumption that the payment was for an affair cover-up.”
I agree. Guys like Trump have gold diggers mining all the time. Sometimes it’s easier to pay and get them to shut up then to fight false charges. It’s possible that is what happened. It’s also possible they had an affair. The payment isn’t a good indicator of what happened.
I’m sorry. It was Trump’s other lawyer, Rudy Giuliani who made the claim as to what the money Cohen moved to Stormy was for. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/02/us/politics/trump-michael-cohen-stormy-daniels-giuliani.html
Because whether it is legal or not depends on whether you are in a "one party" or "two party" state. In a two party state, both participants have to agree to the recording. In a one party state, which New York is, only one party has to agree, so Cohen could tape legally.
However, its a gross violation of attorney-client confidentiality, and should get him disbarred.
I think I read somewhere, however, that Giulani and Trump were willing to waive the privilege (which belongs to Trump, the client), for this particular tape, because it was exculpatory. Not positive about that.
Because New York in one of the states that requires only ONE party to know bout the taping. Some states require both parties to know.
