The mother of a boy who died after being found badly burned in Natchitoches July 17 was booked Wednesday (July 25) with principal to first degree-murder. Hannah Barker, 22, is the second person arrested in connection with the child's death, Louisiana Fire Marshal's Office reported.
On Monday, the fire marshal's office announced the arrest of Felicia Marie Nicole Smith, 25, who was booked with the first-degree murder of Levi Cole Ellerbe. In a news release issued Wednesday afternoon, the fire marshal reported that Smith and Barker knew one another prior to the homicide and that additional charges against Smith are expected.
The case remains under investigation by the fire marshal and the Natchitoches Police Department. No further details on the case are being released at this time, the fire marshal said in its Wednesday news release.

The evil in this is beyond my understanding.
No. I abstained from jumping to conclusions when this happened last week. People get lynched by people who jump to conclusions.
The baby was still alive, so this had to be some kind of sacrifice.
It’s not like the baby had already died due to abuse or neglect, and they were trying to dispose of the body. That would be more than bad enough. But it was still alive.
We have no way to justly reward their actions before sending them to hell. We aren’t going to slowly burn them alive, that’s too much to ask of us. So in this matter we have to trust God and His justice to take over after they each expire.
Could be momma owed money for drugs and baby had insurance policy, story concocted about kidnap.
I can’t come up with a fitting punishment on this earth for such evil.

ugh. i was sorry i clicked initially when mom was a “victim” and now i am sorry i know different. I am gonna let this story pass. Poor baby! Hope everybody else involved has a slow death.

I abet it was some type of satanic ritual. Drugs involved, probably but something was definitely screwy in those two women’s brains.
I just hate reading about a child dying in such ways. The sorrow for the lost life in such horrific pain lingers and lingers like a horror movie.
This story did not make much sense from the start, claiming she fled her house but left her baby there? Nobody would do that. She looks like a druggie.
Well that article certainly didn’t clarify anything. Maybe sucking crawdad heads makes journalists extra stupid.
FYI... the town name is pronounced “naka-dish”... and it is north of the crawfish zone. :)

Says thy arrested the mother, Baker as well as Smith but expect to arrest more people... very weird:
I don't see anything that suggests the wrong person would have been lynched, just that additional ropes might be needed.
I don’t doubt that.
These people will not fare well in prison. I wouldn’t bet on them surviving their hitch intact.
Did anything in the story specifically say that the baby was alive when it was burned? I know that the article is written to make it look that way but writing is so poor these days I wouldn’t take that for granted.
