I have a friend in NY that is saying the same thing about the humidity. Blech. AC rocks! LOL!

Glad the nasty weather up there didn’t clobber you!

Howdy, LUV.

It was a good day but didn’t go quite as planned. The meeting was good and two candidates running for different offices were there to talk to us. I hadn’t met one but the other I’d met a couple of times before.

Afterwards I ended up working at the tent again, which I hadn’t counted on.

Pretty toasty today but this is SUPPOSED to be the last 90 degree day for a while. Hope they’re right!

Sorry to hear you didn’t get any rain. It looked promising last night/

Look at that beautiful LB! I can see the difference already in her weight. And her coat looks better too.

Inside is nice and cool but there’s still walking across parking lots to get into and out of the stores to deal with. No fun in that kind of heat.

Our temps appear to be moderating for a little while and are we ever glad! It was hot today but there was still a nice breeze blowing that made it tolerable ... if you were in the shade.

Had the monthly Republican women’s group meeting this morning and ended up working at our tent at the County Annex Bldg. again this afternoon. Early voting ends Sat., then election day is next Thurs. and the tent comes down that night.

Now trying to catch up on everything I didn’t get to do this afternoon.

Ooooo....sorry you had to go back to the tent in that heat. I hope they are right and your temps will be more comfy in the near future! How did you feel about the candidates that you spoke with today?

She looks much better. I let her roam around the bedroom a bit....that is until Peaches “knocked” on the door. If I don't let him in, he digs at the carpet. ugh! So she went back to her space. She certainly never complains. The only time she scratched at the door last night didn't last long. I had turned off the light, and when I turned it back on, she settled right down. Here is the other shot I got on the windowsill that shows off her gorgeous yellow eyes.

Good evening, radu...are you still awake? LOL!

How did your early morning meeting go?

I got a call from my tree man that he would meet at home and give me an estimate to cut down a couple trees, take away a downed branch and clean up where it broke off, try to get the branch out of the creek (it’s been there 2 years), and cut back several branches hovering over the roof (they allowed access for the squirrels), and check all trees for health. Mom refused some of the clean up for several years. Oh, and he will grind the stumps too. And the price is quite reasonable.

Then, maybe the grass will grow.

AND I drove home in the rain!! We are just over a 1/2 inch and most grateful.

Good evening/morning, ML...((HUGS))...sounds like you had a really good time and the weather cooperated for your ride home.

Is Penny keeping her feet dry? Is the mud room doing its job? Did you get some paint on that you like?

It wasn’t too bad at the tent. It was breezy again and that helped a lot. I just hadn’t planned on doing it today and had other things I wanted to do.

The one candidate that I’d already met has my vote. I think he’d be a great state representative for our district. The other one has my vote, too, because I’d done my homework on her already. It was nice to finally get to meet her though.

LB looks so much like our Lily, they could be twins. Same shaped face and those pretty, long ears. Be glad she isn’t as big a brat as Lily. LOL!!

Ahhh...she is totally not a brat. She has a very sweet and loving nature and purrs SO loud! I think she’ll be ready to get her feet back into the grass by Saturday afternoon or so. I opened the window just a bit this morning so she could look out, but not pick the screen off LOL!....and she was really watching the kittens that were in view. Meowed a bit but didn’t get upset.

Whew! So glad it wasn’t unbearable in that tent! A breeze definitely helps!

LOL! Yes, still awake but not exactly wide awake. Too many early days the past week and there’s still Sat. to go. THEN the schedule goes back to normal for a while. WHEW!

The meeting went well and two candidates running for office were there to speak to the group. They stuck around for the rest of the meeting as we discussed plans for the different upcoming events we’re involved in the next few months. They said they were quite impressed with our group. That was nice .... we’re quite impressed with them as candidates.

You’d mentioned before you wanted to get those two trees taken down. Didn’t know about the other tree stuff that needs to be dealt with. That’s quite a bit. Glad that’s about to become reality at last, especially getting rid of the “squirrel highways”.

WOOHOO for more rain! That needs to continue for a while!

Looking good, LB...

Good evening, Luv...yes, I am enjoying the rain. Lots of fires all across the state. Right now I’m sitting by the front window, laptop on my lap, and watching it rain. Most pleasant. d:o)

Based on all you've said about her, it's obvious she's not the brat Lily is. Lily's a sweetie but she can get wound up like a two-dollar watch in a flash, all wild-eyed and ever'stuff. LOL

Nice that she can see the kittens when they're around the part of the yard LB can see through the window. She can see they're ok and she knows Ghost watches over them. But she's probably enjoying a break from them. Raising 5 kittens can't be easy! The stiff breeze all week has made it feel decent outside, even today. The only bad thing about being outside is the pollen and mold spores. The ol' sinuses have NOT been happy!

Mmmmm....that sounds lovely. Can you open the window so you can smell it, too?

I hope the rain will put out those fires. There seem to be so many this summer! Everywhere!

Hi Beach, Kathy.

I’m busy getting ready for Shabbos. Also, this Friday is 15 Av, a festive time on the Jewish calendar.

Unfortunately, it is also my father’s yahrzeit, the anniversary of his death. So I’m feeling a little subdued.

(He was roaring liberal, though. Wasn’t comfortable with my red-pilled conservatism.)
