All the giant redwoods are over 100 miles west of where the Carr fire is burning. Think coast for the redwoods, and middle of the state for the Carr fire. Hope thia helps a bit.

However, the giant sequoia's are threatened by the fire south of the Redding area fire. The one near Yosemite:

Yosemite fire: Flames threaten park’s giant sequoia trees

As flames from the Ferguson Fire burn closer to some of the world’s oldest and largest trees, firefighters are racing to protect ancient sequoias on Yosemite National Park’s western edge.

About 25 Yosemite firefighters have surrounded Merced Grove — whose immense trees tower more than 200 feet tall and date back 1,000 years — with fire hoses. They spent Thursday cutting fire lines by hand around the famous site, hoping to slow the blaze and reduce its intensity if it enters the venerable forest depicted on thousands of postcards and tourist photographs.

For some perspective...

Some may be familiar with the tree's that people could drive through:

Both pretty amazing tree's to see in person.
