Even so, they are making the money to buy stuff from us.

We are the largest, by far, consumer of Chinese goods in the world.

They could give up this gravy train, but no more gravy.

How badly would America be hurt if we stopped buying all their crap, versus they stop buying all of ours? We’d sell less soybeans. And?

They’d sell less TV, electronics, toys, steel, pet food, just about everything sold in Walmart, Kmart and Costco...

I was in Walmart trying to find some frozen salmon NOT from China. Couldn’t be done.

No, when the buyer doesn’t buy, it is the merchant who loses, or tries something to woo back the customer, not the other way around.

Trump is holding out for a better deal. In the end, the Chinese will see the merit of this versus no sale.

Two minor examples of Chines items we use in the U.S. -

1. Steel - Structural steel and Pipe to build refineries, Many of these require MAJOR testing to verify Materials quality as Specified - 304S has to be 304S not Carbon steel

2. BOLTS - same issue as steel only MUCH more critical

The Chines lie and produce garbage - very similar to Soviets.

I pretend to work and you pretend to pay me, I believe is the way things still operate in Commie countries - Venezuela being the example closest to the U.S.

Trump's bigger problem is the domestic opposition he is experiencing from both within Congress and from without by special interests. The globalists are undermining him during these negotiations. The Chinese, Canadians, etc. are working with the domestic opposition to torpedo Trump. The Chinese and EU retaliatory sanctions are specifically directed to hurt Trump with his political constituency whether it is soybeans or bourbon.

Trillions of dollars are at stake. The globalists will do whatever is necessary to maintain the status quo. They include Dems, RINOs, the Chamber of Commerce, etc. Trump is fighting a tremendous headwind.

There are plenty of other Aisian trading partners that produce such products, let them have a turn at the US markets and experience some more growth.

I've seen labels saying made in: Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, etc etc etc. None of them pose any military threat to the US.

Ska-rew China.

...We’d sell less soybeans. And?...

The "soybean scam" is yet another lie told by the economics-challenged (or is it another deliberate lie?) drive-by media.

See: In the week ended June 28, net American exports more than doubled from a year earlier to 1.02 million tons, based on sales for the current marketing year and the next, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Some amounts that were originally sold to China have been redirected to countries including Pakistan and Bangladesh, the USDA said.
