Italy Salvini Says Nation Doesn’t Create Children Will Die..Less Migrants (tr)

Italy’s new Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini is following Hungary’s Viktor Orbán in putting demographics at the heart of his programme, warning that a country which imports migrants instead of supporting families is “destined to die”. The League (Lega) leader, who heads one half of Italy’s new populist coalition government, set out his priorities in an interview with The Sunday Times at the historic Palazzo del Viminale in Rome.

“A country which does not create children is destined to die,” Salvini stated bluntly.

“We have created a ministry of the family to work on fertility, nurseries, on a fiscal system which takes large families into account. At the end of this mandate, the government will be measured on the number of newborns more than on its public debt,” he declared.

If the US ends in sharia-tyranny, it will be due in large part to the baloney scotus determined rights to contraception, abortion, and buggery.

Together, these three mean society has the right to terminate itself, which is total nonsense. The damage done by scotus to a once free people is incalculable.

At this point, just raising children is no longer an option. They need to raise and train soldiers, or their children will get slaughtered.

Many couples prefer dogs to children. It will be interesting to see who takes care of them when they get old and sick.

He’s smarter than the pope who said Catholics shouldn’t pop out babies like rabbits.

“What caused that? I think for the most part, it has been government policy of taxing the middle class to subsidize the lower class.”

I don’t think so. Having kids in the past wasn’t cheap either and there wasn’t any help from government then either...and houses were half the size that they are now (i.e., kids sleeping 2 to a room is unheard of these days, although it happened all the time in our past).

What changed was the FEMINIST REVOLUTION. Now having babies is simply one more ‘career option’ for women, competing with climbing the corporate ladder or starting and running a business.

Back in the day, women could be one of three things: A school teacher, a secretary, or a housewife (i.e., a mom). Since there was limited availability of work in the first two categories, most became moms.

So now it’s different. More women than men graduate college and virtually all immediately start careers. But women know that careers have to be put on hold for years if they have a kid, and put on hold even longer if they have multiple kids (and virtually ended if they have more than 5 kids)...so it pushes them towards the one trophy child option, if that.

So what is a society to do? Really only 2 options, either go back to the pre-feminist days and end career paths for woman, or do what Hungary is doing and trying to make the ‘career choice’ of being a mom at least competitive with being a career woman. Hungary is trying, Italy may try, Japan might try, but most other ‘leaders’ are simply happy to kill off their countries by flooding them with immigrants.

“It seems like an “irreconcilable difference”, in that people in their 20s, going to college, building careers etc, during those years, are precisely the years where females have high fertility if they ever want to have children.”

Yep, said it perfectly. The next step is getting people, even on our side, to under this. So far our answer is that women just decided to go ‘on strike’ when it came to making babies, even though after WW2, every singe country fully repopulated in one generation...and those conditions were FAR WORSE than anything today, particularly in Europe and Asia.

I had four children. All good. I was the main breadwinner when I was married and after my husband left me we were better, because he wasn’t spending the money. Don’t judge people.

That may have been true for you but that would be the exception to the rule. As a society it is generally better for women to stay home with the children and for the men to work to support them and their children. There is reason that the traditional family became traditional around the world.

Oh, please. Get off your high horse.

Nothing in that post could be taken as “judging” single mothers.

You’re looking to be offended to get attention and virtue signal.

Take it somewhere else.

“...by taxing the middle class to death. ...”

The only reason that happens is because we LET them tax us to death.

Pretty sad state of affairs when the Public Servants get bigger than their britches and think they’re the Masters.

we stopped at 3 due to the cost of having more, and we did not want to take from the government anything. 7 I wanted 6 being boys.

1) Ban abortion and the pill.

2) Eliminate alimony.

3) Repeal the 16th, 17th, and 19th Amendments.

Or folks who never marry for whatever reason. The are absolutely correct that there is a demographic winter coming.

Perhaps four children per family will come into vogue in Italy but I doubt it.

As an aside, I have observed that couples with children and grandchildren tend to be happier. Your mileage may differ.

It seems like an “irreconcilable difference”, in that people in their 20s, going to college, building careers etc, during those years, are precisely the years where females have high fertility if they ever want to have children.

It's almost like it was popularized on purpose or something.

Having been married to an Italian (from Italy), I can confirm this. Like most West European women, they are highly feminist and more interested in fancy vacations and living fancy lifestyles, rather than furthering their genetic legacy. Women are the destroyers of civilizations.
