Would be a lost different landscape politically today without talk radio or internet dissention from the alphabet MSM daily talking points.
A lot different (not lost)
Discovered him tuning around the dial while sitting on a beach in St. Augustine, Florida in 1989.
Happy anniversary, El Rushbo!
CONGRATS to Rush Limbaugh for 30 years of EIB Excellence from the Rush thread poster!
Rush was the person that finally opened the eyes of Americans to the Leftist tilt of the Establishment Media. And it hasn’t been the same since.
I started listening to Rush when he was local in Sacramento California. I was a service tech on the road a lot and was always having to search on the radio for something to listen to.
I stopped on what I thought was an OLDIES station as there was an old song on. Imagine my surprise when Rush jumped in with his HOMELESS update. I was hooked for many years.
I was a listener to the David Gold show in Dallas about the time Limbaugh started up and came on either right before or right after Gold (who is also a FReeper). Kind of rounded out the afternoon.
Wow I have been listing to that old wind bag since 1990
Started in 93 and regular listener until the wun ascended.
He and the rest didn’t do much except complain some.
Ditto! Thirty years! If he lives as long as his ancestors, he’s just getting started!
Congratulations to Rush.
Thousands of us drove up to see him at Dan’s Bake Sale in northern Colorado in 1992.
As a citizen of Realville, I love my Mayor!
Rush’s TV show was ahead of its’ time. It was the precursor to shows like “The Daily Show”, albeit those shows were with a liberal bent.
You’re right. People could relate to Rush and wanted that.
I remember that many channels moved it to 1 or 2AM in the morning.....Bastards!
I started listening as a teen in 1993. Always hated that I could only listen to the first 10 minutes during school lunch period before the bell went off.
Summer vacation meant I could get the full three hours and watch his TV show that was aired at 11:30pm.
I’m close. I’ve been a listener since August 1, 1988. His first day of Syndication at one of the original stations, WXYT in Detroit.
Rush was sandwiched between Mark Scott, the guy who was tea party before there was a tea party and David Newman, a true intellectual.
I had tickets to the Rush to Excellence tour but couldn’t go. I think my wife gave birth that night or something equally momentous. I guess I made the right decision.
Congratulations Rush. Found him in 1992 by chance on the radio when driving.
