Iran's currency is continuing its downward spiral as increased American sanctions loom, hitting a new low on the thriving black market exchange.

The Iranian rial fell to 112,000 to the dollar on Sunday, from 98,000 to $1 on Saturday. The government-set exchange rate was 44,070 to the dollar, compared to 35,186 on Jan. 1.

The Iranian rial has been declining steadily for years but the drop has accelerated in recent months after the U.S. decision to pull out of the nuclear deal with Iran in May and announcement of increased sanctions beginning next month.

Not to worry..... it’s only money

The falling Rial is God’s will. Otherwise it would not be happening.

Most of the projects are publicity-type and geared toward the 2020 Expo.

NO matter how many rebrandings they get (and they’ve had several over the years) they are a cult. The ultimate goal is to take over & run Iran. The Iranian people won’t allow it.

What do you propose or anticipate as a replacement for the current Iranian regime?

There are opposition leaders like Mirhossein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard, and Maryam Rajavi, and they have public and secret followers.

Reza Pahlavi could return as a royal figurehead with a parliamentary democracy.

What a lot of chanting has been for years, is for Reza Pahlavi. And we couldn’t ask for a better replacement.
That’s who I propose, but it’s up to the Iranian people.

“Reza Pahlavi”

From your lips, to God’s ears.

The return of the Shah, not as a dictator, but in a leadership role within a Constitutional Democracy, would restore with it much of the rich Persian heritage.

Liberating Iran from the oppression of these mullahs would be a mighty act of redemption for past infractions, for any group participating (such as MEK). On the other side of regime change, ideally there would be reconciliation. That is an area where the office of the Shah could really serve the people well.

If there is to be real Democracy, people would be free to form political Parties of their choice. Remnants of the old regime might form a religious Party, MEK might establish a Party on their values, Ethnic minorities might have Parties focused on their issues and so on. Some will naturally tend to hate others based on differences in principle, but even simple competition will tend to set folks against each other.

King Bhumibol in Thailand is a great example of how one man, in the office of the Crown, could carry his Nation together through crises, drive a higher standard of prosperity, inspire higher ideals, and resolve internal political conflicts, that would otherwise erupt.

If a royal family adheres to high ideals of nobility, that can be a useful honest broker in a modern political environment, and a check on the worst possible excesses of changes in political wind.

@Alireza Nader : “Almost every major protest in Iran in the last 4 days has featured salutes to Reza Shah, demands for the Shah’s return and expressions of support for Prince Reza Pahlavi.”

Not to mention “Death to dictator”
