Ohio Special Election: Democrat Turnout 87% of 2016 Total — GOP Turnout Only 40% of 2016 Total
GP ^ | August 7,2018 | Jim Hoft

On Tuesday Troy Balderson defeated Democrat Danny O’Connor by less than 1% of the vote.

Balderson had 100,052 votes compared to Tiberi’s 251,266 votes in 2016 or 40% of the 2016 turnout.

Danny O’Connor had 98,364 votes on Tuesday compared to 112,638 votes received by Democrat Ed Albertson in 2016 or 87% of the 2016 Turnout.

This should concern Republican party leaders. The GOP to do a better job or Trump is going to face a Democrat Congress ready to impeach him in 2019.

This doesn’t look like a blue wave is coming

Looks like Kasich needs to work harder. If he can drop R turnout to the 30’s he’ll get Ds elected like he wants.

87 vs. 40. Guess who is motivated. Gotta get on it. I don’t vote where it counts in Calif but I can send a few bucks in the direction where it does. Ms. Heng in Fresno for instance. Don’t know if it will help.

Good Point.

The commie liberals will be mortgaging their houses to provide $$ for the 2018 election, and will again in 2020.

We live in ginned up extreme times and those rat bastiges will do ANYTHING to win.

GOP better up its damn game in a damn hurry.

Gosh, what could be motivating so many Dems to get out and vote, while at the same time leaving so many Republican voters sort of ambivalent?

Nobody out there is expiring and firing up the base the way Trump does. Trump took on the entire establishment when he ran, not just on the left but also on the right so you have a lot of voters who aren’t enthusiastic about a lot of these Republicans. but who love Trump.

This looks just like vote fraud to me.

How does fraud depress turnout by 40%?

I don’t know. That’s a huge difference in turnout. The blue wave aint out of the question yet.

It is beyond me how Republican voters, knowing what this president has accomplished and how the left wants to take him down, could possibly sit anything out. Shame on them.

BTW, 100 percent of the vote is in in Kansas; Kobach won by 200 votes.

I heard Dems outspent GOP by 3-1, that’s part of the story.
Also, Is Troy the best candidate we could find?

Balderson is kind of a rino, isn’t he?

Rino’s don’t get enthusiastic support from either party.

Dems are “highly motivated” and they can’t even beat a rino?

If you think this looks bad for Trump, imagine if he had lost.

87% is very surprising.

Sounds like what one would expect in N. Korea, China....etc.

But it is a scandal that only 40% of the republicans voted. OH is a manufacturing state, big time, and it has and will prosper again under President Trump.

Any so called conservate that does not vote for Trump and for those that will help him is really stupid.

write-in and provisional votes have yet to be counted. I don’t think they’ll be enough to make much of a difference, but I’m not taking anything for granted.
